When your playing pokemon, How long does it take you to put your full team together?
By what gym is your team finalized?
Do you plan your teams prior to each playthrough?
Do you roll with a full team of 6 everytime?

I just use my starter along with one or two good Pokemon. Full teams are for fags.

Y seems like it'll fix it though with like 450 choices

Starter with 2 more by the first gym. I try not to have a team of more than four until the fourth gym at least, and no more than 5 untl all 8 badges are obtained.

This isn't counting HM slaves, of course

I want to have my starter + 2 solid Pokemon viable for the rest of the game by at least the third gym. Also included is usually the regional bug that will be a HM slave lategame. Then along the way I get another HM slave and then whatever's still missing.

I remember getting a Vibrava in BW2 rather late when I was looking for a good fly user that can also pull his weight. Flygon carried my team then through the E4.
