You're trying to trade BP for 5IV that take 2 batches which is fine, but you're trying to cut the process by 2/3rds for yourself and only trading the value of the last 3rd. Just because they have it that easy now doesn't devalue what they had to do to get there with it. Just sayin.
>>16038454 But they aren't losing value on it at all because they can keep rebreeding as many 5IV pokemon as they want. That means the value lost is in fact equal. Your BP item you trade = the 5IV they trade, and the time it takes you to generate another BP item = the time it takes to generate another penta perfect. The difference is you can get the BP the second you get to Kiloude. No other prior time investment is required. Whereas with the 5IV mon they had to invest time in breeding the parents. That value on the parents should not be lost on their child. The value diminishes, but it does not disappear. I'm not saying that people will not trade 5iv for 16 BP, I'm just saying that it is clearly a corner cut for the person trading the BP and is intrinsically an unfair trade. With a higher BP item than that your argument holds just fine, but 16 is too low to justify it as truly fair.

a. Khan needs a "free" turn to start sweeping. This often means eating a Paralysis, Burn, Confusion, Attract, so forth.
b. Sucker Punch/Crunch. Sucker Punch leaves you vulnerable to some ghosts (Gourgiest being a particular thorn), Crunch is worse against faster enemies and leaves you without priority if you're para'd.
c. He's kind of slow battle wise. His mega-animation takes a while, he adds another attack length on every turn, etc. It's not huge, but it's noticeable.
I've found that Lum Berry Multiscale Dragonite solves a lot of these problems. While he also needs a turn to set up, Multiscale+Lum Berry basically guarantees this turn. Lum Berry acts a "Get out of Battle Maison bullshit" free card in addition to breaking Outrage confusion. He can OHKO everything that's not a physical wall and 2HKO those, and is bulky enough to take neutral hits or weaker SE hits even after Multiscale breaks. Plus Outrage spam makes the earlier battles super fast and low effort.

And what I'm saying (and what the others are too, I believe), is that we don't feel that it's technically unfair, or inherently unfair in any way. Some people will think it's unfair, but there's not really anything objective about it. That's just the way I see it - feel free to think differently.

>>16038748 I have to respectfully disagree with a few points.
>Khan needs a "free" turn to start sweeping. This often means eating a Paralysis, Burn, Confusion, Attract, so forth. Fake-Out is a great lead attack because it hit twice and gets stab. It always flinches (free turn) and the only thing that would resist it are Ghost leads, which you can run Scrappy and use first turn, and then Mega-Evolve with Crunch second turn.
>b. I agree with Sucker Punch not being as viable in Maison, which is why you should run Crunch instead. Crunch has the added bonus of pretty frequently lowering defense (sometimes twice!).
>c. This is why I run a Jolly nature over an Adamant, and compensate with Power Up Punch. A Jolly Speed invested Kanga maxes out at 167 which is pretty fucking fast. I think I outpaced about 90% of the Maison unless it was one of the top 10% of fast Pokemon with Speed boosting natures.
Another reason I prefer Power Up punch is that in the rare case you need the boost its due to some tricky stall shit like Cradily which can't really do much except Toxic but is annoying without setting up for it.
Long story short, Kanga got my my Super Single trophy when nothing else was cutting it. I got to 60+ something until the NPCs threw Latios and Latias at me to suicide Draco Meteor everything in site.
>>16038629 You're forgetting that I'm not asking them to breed me specific pokemon. The time invested into getting those parents is irrelevant because the player wanted that pokemon in the first place. I don't ask for 5IV of the pokemon I want, I'm asking for 5IV leftovers that people have/are readily able to breed. I will agree that 16 is probably not a clear cut number but the next price in battle item is 32 and that's pushing it. I generally try and go for bulk trades. And like I said before I usually attach them to 4+IV mons that can be used to start another project they want. If it's not for you don't trade, that's fine. But what else would you have me do? I'm just trying to get Starf berry and trying to catch up on time lost breeding by going to Maison.

With the amount of leftovers and breeding trades that happen it's not hard at all to get 5 IV pokemon. If you were going to hold a stop watch up and say that this is longer than the maison fights, you wouldn't take into account difficulty. It is much easier to ride back and forth and grab eggs then it is to make and use a team.
Perhaps I don't grok your side of this but it seems a fair enough trade to me, and then again, if it doesn't seem fair, don't make the trade.

30 people spend time making machines that can make pizzas because no one else will give them a pizza. The machine that can duplicate itself in roughly the same time it takes a second guy to go buy a bunch of tools to maintain the machine. He then trades the tools for one of the machines. Obviously they will make the trade because they have INFINITE MACHINES!!! but the second guy did nothing but wait around while everyone else slaved away to make their own machine, and then walked in and said HEY DOODS WANT SOME TOOLS FOR YOUR MACHINES? He's not in the wrong, but his path to the machine was easier, and I feel like that devalues the tools he is trading in comparison the machine, even if it is a win-win situation.

On Khan, I think Sucker Punch/Crunch is an interesting choice. While Crunch's reliability is nice, Sucker Punch gives you game against higher speed pokes or slower pokes with priority. I mean those troublesome Lati@s just fall right over to Sucker Punch.
I didn't mean Kangaskhan's in-game speed, I meant how long battles take with M-Khan. Even when Kangkashan is cleanly sweeping (4 turns), the Mega evolution animation takes a while, he adds another attack to each turn, so forth.
But don't get me wrong, M-Khan is awesome. Hell I use him on my team as a janitor, with Fake Out/Sucker Punch/Return giving a lot free kills. But I feel his role in Battle Maison is not the primary sweeper he is on competitive teams, which is how a lot people build and recommend him.
