The XL is only slightly larger than the DSphat.

The main difference is the fact that they used more room on the upper half to put the screen on.

The only good thing about the 3DS Xl are the select-home-start buttons, since they're actual buttons. Games look way worse on it since they're upscaled, so all you see are jaggies.
