I think anon means that the gym leaders leave their gyms and go to certain spots around the regions and you can talk to them, they also call you up for rematches if I remember correctly

Beta as fuck. Rather than that, you should be able to come up and talk to her in your house/hotel room, and ask her to follow you around for the rest of the day. This could either be just aesthetic, or you could go double battles together at certain facilities in the game. Who needs Pokémon following you around when you can have girls following you around?
And the bicycle store eventually puts up a tandem for sale. If you ride it together with Shauna, your eggs hatch twice as fast.
