Instacheck does not generate data, all it does is tell you the stats of offered Pokemon. It's sheer madness not to then use these stats to help yourself out.

People used pokecheck, which checks the IVs as well.

Though, I personally only used pokegen to check IVs as I used a NDS adapter to rip my save data. Was a lot faster than pokecheck as I could mark the pokemon when playing on my DS while going through the boxes on pokegen.
