Has anyone been testing this tanking behemoth? On paper he looks like the solution to a decent amount of popular setup mons like Mawile, Blaziken, and Aegislash. Has anyone on /vp/ had any experience facing/using Unaware Quagsire as a wall recently?

It's okay. Walls Talonflame, most Blaziken, physical Aegislash and some others... but it can't deal with anything that is already strong before setting up and has a stab it doesn't resist.

The only thing that keeps me from using one is its average bulk. I'd hardly call it a behemoth when things like Kingdra are bulkier and have better defensive type.

I wouldn't compare them, but for most things no. I have a Quagsire on my team though. It's cute and I hate the three aforementioned pokemon.

I run impish with max HP and def
Waterfall
Earthquake
Toxic/yawn
Recover

Toxic has been working better for me, but yawn is nice for catching things it can't deal with on the switch.

Thanks for the feedback. Currently trying to replace my Mantine with another special wall and came across Quagsire on list of water walls. With all the fucking Swords Dance Aegislashes I've had to deal with it has enticed me.

Also for those curious Mantine isn't really that terrible of a tank. Running the standard Smogon Rest Talk set and it has caused many lels.

I've been using Quagsire on wifi and Showdown.

In a meta where a +2 can mean the end, Quagsire is fuggen awesome to have around.

As others have said in this thread, he does only have average bulk, so you gotta be careful when using him. I love him though.

Right now I'm using Poison Heal Gliscor as my physical wall and I haven't had too many problems. I was just wondering overall how he faired (if it was well I would have rebuilt my team around him but now I feel like switching Mantine for Vaporeon might be best instead).
