I am on week two of trying to get a 5 iv protean froakie, at this point, I'm just going for fucking 5 ivs

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, if I am at all.

It took me 3 days to get my 5 IV aron. This is getting absurd.

Right now I've got a 31/31/x/x/31/31 female, timid, protean, with ever stone, and a male 31/x/31/31/x/31 with destiny knot. Out of 4 boxes, I've only gotten 4 froakies that have 4 IV's, and zero 5's. Am I just getting royally fucked by rng?

I came so close at one point, but it didn't give me perfect Speed.

I got a breeding question and I hope someone can help me with it. I recently started breeding Adamant Hammer Arm, Circle Throw Whismur and as soon as I have a male and female 5 IV I'm going to start working towards getting this all on kangaskhan. So far all I get is shit, with 1 5IV male being the exception, which is fine because I understand it takes some times. Well, here it comes: In my last couple of batches none of my Whismur know the eggmoves and I can't relearn them a the move relearner because they haven't forgotten them. Am I doing something wrong or?

The parents didn't forget the egg moves did they? Also, I think they changed it in this gen to where moves aren't 100% inheritance anymore, they're only sometimes. So either you're just getting ultra fucked by RNG, or your parent wishmur accidentally overwrote the egg moves.

I think so, I've never really had to learn shit through egg moves on all the pokes I've ever used/made, so don't quote me 100%.

But yeah, you should just be able to go to the relearn tutor and get them back on.

If you can, you're probably better off getting the poke above the level where they learn thier last move so yuo don't have to relearn shit ever couple levels they go up.

My friend did this with his mamoswine, to be nice for helping me get dittos with correct nature, I gave him a 5iv swinub. and he leveld it all the way to 80 before he realized he had to get ice shard before mammoswine.

He has since stopped playing x all together because he can't bring himself to try and breed again.

It ultimately boils down to the same RNG bullshit with IVs. Breeding Pokemon is still a pain in the ass and Pokegen cannot fucking come soon enough.

I had 2 Rotoms that randomly generated a oerfect attack IV.

In the end I gave up and got a max HP/Sp.Atk/Sp.def/Spe that had HP ice and called it a day.

GTS is (surprisingly!) your friend. I've gotten numerous high-IV HA breedfodder (including a pentaperfect Adamant Multiscale French Dratini) by scanning for level 1 Pokemon with good descriptions and reasonable (nonlegendary) asking prices.

That said, I have a box and a half full of pentaperfect (or better) Binacle from my ongoing MM attempt. It's gotten to the point where I'm releasing anything that doesn't have the 12/6/6/5/6/6 spread that would indicate a flawless level 1 Binacle.

There are six different IVs, each one with 32 possible values. So you would have 1/32^6 or 1/1,073,742,824

if you have a bunch of both sexes/ditto with IV's thrown all around, you put two pokes to breed with destiny knot and reject their first egg, then save. (one of these two should have all IV's maxed, preferably something easy to hatch)

then you accept the next egg and check it's IV's and which parent passed what. let's assume the mother passed hp atk and def, and the dad passed s.def and speed.

you reset the game, and put a father that has those stats maxed, and a mother with those stats in the day care with destiny knot+everstone, the next egg will pass the same IV's from each parent, so the new dad will pass it's s.def and spd, and the new mom will pass the hp, def, atk IV's.

if you use a pokemon with the same sex ratio as togepi, you can also see if the togepi will be born M or F

that's how I found a Frenchbro that took my two parents and bred me a child in a little less than an hour. One thing you may want to stress is that the chances of getting the child you want from any egg is 1/6. I also reccomend asking for a male child since that will allow you to MM with the rest of its Egg Groups

What are the IV's of your parents?

You can get REALLY unlucky with the IV rolls.

For instance, out of the 5 IV's you can pass, it can pick the attack IV and defense IV of your 2 parents, using up 4 rolls, with the highest of those two being passed on, and then having your 5th IV be speed, which might not be 31, so in that case, you're only getting 2 perfect IV's

In the friend safari, you're guaranteed 2 IVs, maybe 3. Perhaps by some weird luck in the RNG, you could get a 5 IV Pokemon, but it's incredibly.. INCREDIBLY unlikely.

Breeding is the best bet. It mixes things together.

yes, it stops overlap. the game will pick 5 different stats, then it picks which parent passes that stat, then it generates the last stat

if you're using a power item and the destiny knot picks that stat, the poke holding the power item will pass that stat. in this case it does overlap, but if the destiny knot picks the other 5 stats you end up passing 6 iv's

You can't identify which one does what with what however, so it's just labeled as genderless.

the eggs are taking forever because you are breeding with a ditto. if you already have a drifloon with 4ivs breeding with a ditto is a terrible idea. breed the drifloon with another drifloon and the eggs will lay much faster.

drifloon does have a very long egg cycle though in general.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but in theory you would have to do the following:

>Catch a male pokemon in it's same egg group with it's HA
>breed it with a female Tyrunt
it's going to take a while, but the children -should- have a 10% chance to have their hidden ability I think.

And if you get a female with it's HA you can change that to a 50% chance.

I don't remember if it worked inter-species though
