To clarify when I entered the chamber of emptiness it started a cutscene sort of. Character automatically walked up a bit and stopped. Then the creepy bitch turned and walked towards me.

There's still the possiblity of a Manaphy/Phione (or even Mew/Mewtwo but less supersoldier) dynamic, though.
