That's a whole lotta bulk you got there. Why Gravantula and not Rotom-W, though? Sticky web doesn't make a whole lot of difference since most your team is slow as balls, and if you really wanted it you could breed a Shuckle with it (and power split for Shuckle shenanigans). Other than that, 8/10 team competitive-wise, but 3/10 in terms of taste in mons --I would easily forfeit out of boredom before trying to waste 10 hours having a stall war with you.

Drizzle got nerfed this gen anyway, and I didn't have access to politoed.
Zapdos is my RD and leads alongside Latias who is a dual screener. Once those are done it's just basically fucking around with the other four.
It probably also gets screwed over by Taunt but I have yet to fight anyone who's used it.

Planning on going through X mostly with pokes I haven't used.

Gogoat - I got a laugh out of the idea of a war goat, and I have a decent foreign one for breeding, too.
Scolipede - Never went through the game with one of these, as much as I love them. My gf had one in White that was a total badass, and now that they get Speed Boost, I really want to try one.
Pyroar - While I can't stand the look of Litleo, Pyroar seems pretty good. Immunity to ghost, and can learn Dark Pulse.
Aerodactyl - Always wanted to try one of these, never did. Figured it'd be four shades of insanity with Scolipede passing attack and speed boosts.
Blastoise - I haven't used one of these since Blue, and it can also learn Dark Pulse.
Goodra - I wanted to use one in Y, but my team lacked the flexibility.

Competitive? Hell no. Fun? Seems enjoyable.

My team is planned on being this currently:

I'm not even to third gym and I have all of the pokemon for the team, just not fully evolved. My Muk (grimer currently) is shiney as well. Life is good.

I've never actually played against other people since gen 1. In fact this is the only other pokemon game I've really played. The only reason I can even plan this far ahead is because a friend of mine knows a bunch about pokemon. Still have no idea on what moves the pokemon will have other than muk.

Drop Aegislash. He's too easy to counter unless you're battling a moron.
Mega-Kangaskhan is pretty much the best all-around mega, I'd choose her over Mega-Gengar.
Cloyster should probably be switched for something that won't be OHKO'd by a single hit from a decent fighting mon. Maybe Avalugg as a physical wall.

Currently only have a 3-Pokemon team. They complement each other very well.
-Hawlucha is subsitrus with Swords Dance
-Magnezone is a surprise Specs+Analytic user (whose Volt Switch will OHKO things)
-Flygon is scarfed

At the moment, my team I plan to use competitively is:
Gardevoir@ Gardevoirite - Pixelate
Gengar - Levitate
Malamar - Suction Cups
Crawdaunt - Hyper Cutter
Only problem is that I dunno what to tack on as my last 2 team members and I dunno what items to use. I got an Aegislash and Talonflame I could hse, but I don't feel good about it considering how easy it is to bait Aegislash and my Talonflame only has Big Pecks.
Any suggestions?

Bold seems to be the nature everyone goes to, but this kind of confuses me. Why is it on Vaporeon, it's ideal to even out its defenses, while on other bulky pokemon, you want to maximize their stronger defense stat?

I'm not entirely sure on the EV spread. I'd probably go with 252 Sp.ATK for sure, and then it's a balancing act between ATK and SPD. U-Turn is just utility anyways, and Earthquake's always great.

If things get hairy then M-Gengar comes out. Malamar is almost exclusively for Aegislash.
Chansey is there to stall/poison/heal the team.
And Gliscor just makes people disconnect.

My sweeper (Genger????) isn't terribly type diverse, and I've noticed a fair few types aren't covered at all.

There are many times that you'll snag a victory just because the opponent wasn't knowledgeable of the Pokemon you're using. Except when you use entirely OU Pokemons, anyone decent can react properly and probably have a counter ready already.

Scoliopede should focus less on spikes if only Chansey and Gliscor can even really take advantage of that,

Circle throw is negative priority, even at 1000+ speed, you're going slower than a caterpie using tackle.

Get an actual plan for M-Gengar. Are you saying you're using it as a revenge killer or are you just tossing it out there when you start losing?

You could find a lot better Pokemon for that. Ones that aren't neutral and therefore die to all of Aegislash's moves after it's boosted.

If you already have toxic on Chansey, toxic spikes is sort of redundant. Swap it out for a free Substitute or swords dance or something if you're getting upwards of 2+ free turns a game. Or swap out toxic on Blissey for those that are immune to the spikes. Give it thunder wave or something instead.

Try to have more than one sweeper. What happens if Gengar dies? What if you face a special wall?

Plus resisting power whip while being way too slow for gyro ball to have even 90 power makes him great against Ferrothorn, which I had problems against. I ran him with thunderbolt for a while due to the aforementioned flying problem until I started going with Scald to hit Gliscor.

Remember you're running a team of 6.
That team should support eachother. Sure, you can use Pokemon you like, but don't just throw 6 together that you like and call it a team. Pick one or even two that you like. See what they're weak to, what they need help with, hell, what they would support well.

From there keep adding on Pokemon like that until you have a solid team. That's pretty much most of what there is to teambuilding.

Surprisingly, Avalugg isn't used nearly as much as I thought it would be, so it's not much of a problem. Typically though, I'd burn it with Gourgeist and SubSeed it out or finish it off with Mawile or Azumarill. Even if it's not burned, Azumarill can tank its Avalanche and EQ easily enough to Belly Drum and KO with Superpower.

I think the only way to win in ranked consistently is to use Paraflinch Togekiss, Swagger Klefki, and something with doubleteam or OHKO moves.

Greninja and Mega Lucario are too fast, you'll get diminishing returns, Talonflame is both too fast and full of priority, Goodra looks like he's trying to be a tank holding assault vest or something. But if you did that you might as well just run gooey.

Snorlax isn't really doing much to help your team composition at all. If anything he just seems like a liability since you haven't posted a set.
If he's a curselax then definitely, since you wanted to use him with Gourgeist's weaknesses and immunities. That means getting rid of your boosts every time something that switches in scares you.

The problem with fly is that it's basically advertising your next move to the opponent. They can just switch into an electric/rock/steel type while you are in the sky and eat the damage like it's nothing. The first turn might be a free protect, but the second is going to leave you completely open. Anything can boost or use thunder/hurricane if they know you are going to use fly. For crobat a better option would be to breed for brave bird or give it acrobatics/aerial ace.

For pidgeot, you should mix it up with the attacking types. Instead of fly and air slash, go with brave bird and steel wing/pursuit. Mirror move could be useful, but it can be unreliable. Maybe replace it with tailwind or u-turn for team assist/getting the fuck out.

Giga impact has the same problem as fly. It's power is really good, but it leaves you wide open for the opponent to boost without worry of an attack. Maybe give it a rock-type move or something like bulk up to boost the power of the moves it already has.

You should probably switch out avalugg for a water type, otherwise half your team has a horrible weakness to fire. Avalugg is the only counter to a fire type, and it relies on not getting OHKOd by fire sweepers.

Cloyster is good for monstrous defense like avalugg. Slowbro is also really good for defense. Inversely, you could do tentacreul or slowking for good special defense. Or vaporeon for good HP bulk. Maybe even lanturn for good HP bulk and electric immunity.

Issues I've come across with this team, Jolteon wants an ice gem so bad, so many times I've tried hitting a gyarados or talonflame or togekiss with thunder, only to have garchomp switch in. The ice gem would be important as anything less than 50% boost fails to OHKO a lot of things with only 60 BP, I did look into life orb.

I'm thinking about dropping gyarados's mega form, or even replacing it altogether with salamence as ice tutor moves are no where to be seen.

Probably want a Rotom wash on there, as common as it is I can see its handiness in crippling things with tricks and WoW's.

To be honest, I hardly ever use her anymore. She's currently the only one I have who can really tank opposing Electrics trying to take advantage of muh rain (Heliolisk just doesn't have the defenses), but even with Rest-Hydration, she goes down pretty quickly to strong physical attackers. Still, she does have the survivability if used right, Sludge Bomb to hit opposing Fairies, and rain-boosted Muddy Water, which really helps especially in doubles/triples.

As common as it seems to be, Rotom-W would be a great teammate for Megawile: immunity to Ground/resistance to Fire, Will-o-wisp to help with her defense, possibly Trick to take care of walls, etc.

Azumarill's pretty bulky, I have no doubt he could take at least one Brave Bird. And if whoever this hypothetical person is would decide to switch a Garchomp into an Azumarill, then you use Play Rough on Talonflame; you won't be going first Aqua Jet or otherwise, and Talonflame can't exactly take a hit.

you do realise that the motherfucker has balk enough to survive crit focus punch from breeloom, +4 Sacred Sword from Aegislash, and has Sturdy/Magic Coat to deal with special attackers.

Also is slow enough to use Avalanche properly, can Rapid Spid, Recover, has StoneQuake (from respectable 117 Base Attack). This is a godsend for Mono Ice

I enjoy playing double teams mostly, so I want the team to be built around that idea. I believe it has good coverage but I think it has a few kinks to work out.
Considered scrapping Sylveon and Aggron and replace with mawile, and add another 6th, but not sure yet. Any suggestions?

I prefer playing double battles over single for the most part, so my goal is to have a good team built for that purpose. I've considered replacing Sylveon and Aggron for mawile and adding another 6th for more coverage, but I'm not sure if itd work well. Any suggestions?

I would suggest Scolipede, but looking over your team I realize it probably wouldn't fit very well. Skarmory might be a better choice. But really though, Sableye can work wonders. He shuts down setup and physical sweepers and hard-counters Mega-Khan. Use him.Otherwise, go for the shuckle man. And make sure it has Acupressure.

Amazingly i haven't lost a single match yet, i think this is just because literally everyone is the standard 10-yearold MUH LEGEND-DAIRYS kid.
I'm not going to play in fucking tournaments or something, i just want to not get fucked by anyone not running a full legendary team.

How do you deal with walls/stallers/setup? Sure it's not really all that common online, but I play online using such things and there are others like me so, like, get a taunter. And maybe a wall or two. Bulk is always good, especially as 10 year-olds tend to rage-quit when they can't 1HKO everything with their Mega-Chicken.

I will consider putting in Shuckle for Aegislash anyways, thanks.

My counter for setup and sweepers (including Mega-Kanga) has been Gengar so far, never mind the rest of my team, because Sub-disable just shuts so much down, especially with people going for Sucker Punch on Kanga only to be met with a Sub->Focus Blast/Disable.

Use weakness policy on clefable rather than life orb, and make it bold instead of modest, far better tank and far more powerful stored power and moonblast. I also use Wish instead of Moonlight, sure it needs better timing to us, but because of Clefables decent HP she can also act as a wish passer for other mons in my team, if setting up is not possible.

I'll consider Sableye. Not sure what to do with Sylveon - would be nice if I could give it Heal Bell.

As for the fire thing, yeah. That looks like it might be a problem, though so far it hasn't come up very much. Switching into Dragonite or Rotom-W tends to keep the fire-types off my back.

Opinion-wise: Get something a bit more interesting than simple face-bashing to allow more fun play. Your Vaporeon is great for them kinds of things. I'd use Mandibuzz over Braviary for taunt and balk, but you should play with the pokémon you like. You should definitely switch out dig for EQ on your Flygon to avoid immune switch-ins. Keeping your pokémon focused on one thing is generally a good idea. So unless you want to keep Venusaur and Delphox for sentimental reasons I recommend you replace them with ones with better stats.

Swap either Trevenant or Scolipede out for a decent physical attacker - I'd personally take out Trevenant because Scolipede's SD + Speed Boost->BP can work really well with a proper physical sweeper.

Don't know about Metagross really, sorry.

Regarding the sixth slot - you need something with utility - either a physical/special wall, even a spinner, or a healing support.

One pokemon I'd consider is Goodra - it is a supreme special wall, with Assault Vest and good SpD - but also has a very decent movepool.

Would Weakness Policy do that much better? I've got Life Orb on there because of the free boost to strength. Plus Smeargle usually manages to get in loads of points for Stored Power. I mostly use Ozymandias for the bling, it just feels so good to BP some speed boosts and a SD from Scolipede and sweep away. But you're completely correct about my fire weakness. I'm probably gonna end up switching Mr. Sticks for a Garchomp once I'm done breeding that. And probably switch Garchomp for something else later since I don't really like it that much.

I'm also thinking of switching my Clawitzer for a Tentacruel, which would give me a spinner. And with Tentacruel walling special and Sableye walling physical I could probably us the last spot for the Drapion I've been planning on breeding. Not sure how this would affect team balance though.

The problem is several special walls are Fairy types - for example Sylveon or Florges, which won't work well with Clefable already being in the team.

Personally I'd put Sylveon in as a special wall/support and swap out Clefable for a decent special sweeper.

My thought processes with skuntank were to switch into psychic pokemon that could harm my other pokemon and use pursuit if they tried to switch out. and to use sucker punch against fast weak pokemon. drapion might be a good idea too though. i didn't think of scolipede ha, i will think of using him too, thank you.

I really hope they allow gen4/5 moves to be bred in x/y, iv breeding seems much harder in gen 3/4. I will just have to wait for poke-transfer and see.

Poliwrath (AnikaPeu, some Inuit Myth. Translates to "The Toad Master") For Phys attacks with a slight side of bulk

Politoed (Heqet, Frog-headed Egyptian goddess of fertility) Special Attack and a little bulk, also Drizzle for rain.

Lickilicky (Kci-Coqol, http://www.native-languages.org/aglebemu.htm... This was a stretch... Lickilicky kinda looks like a Pacman Frog) HP and Phys attack, Dragon Tail for forcing switches.

Greninja (Jiraiya, Ninja that could turn into a toad in Japanese myths) Special attack speedster

Toxicroak (Paakwa, from Paakwa Kachina. Some Hopi native american stuff) Fast Phys attacks

Not necessarily the most competetive, but it's decent for a theme team I think.
