In all seriousness, how do you think GF will handle Mega Evolutions in gen VII? I must admit, at first I hated the concept but it's really grown on me. I hope it doesn't get dropped.

Gen VII is definitely going to be interesting. Are they going to keep mega evolution? Are they just going to add more and more, or will they just drop it, and pretend it never happened? If they do add more, wheres the breaking point?

There needs to be a cut-off point. Not every Pokemon can have a Mega form. At the same time, I don't want them to fade into obscurity. It's nice being able to use Pokemon competitively that wouldn't have been viable without a Mega form.

Some megas should be probably be formes
some should definitely be regular evolutions
Some should remain megas because trading stat boosts/abilities for potential item effects is perfectly reasonable on the ones that go to retarded sweeper level
Garchomp should just be removed from the game entirely though

It has less speed which is really what the regular form has going for it.
I'm pretty sure Megachomp is supposed to serve a different role though.

It has a Base Attack of 105. Huge Power doubles it, but the rest of its stats are relatively average. Its BST doesn't even reach 500.

If GF were to keep a handful of Mega Evos as regular evos/forms, then some abilities might need to be changed.
