Gen 6 seemed to change the crit levels. I'm not sure on the numbers but Focus Energy combined with Scope Lens is a guaranteed crit every time. As is Stick Farfetched + High Crit move as well as Focus Energy + High Crit move.
Super Luck and a high crit move is not a 100% chance, but still seems to crit more often than not.

Decent if the Pokemon has the speed to pull it off and completely lacks another boosting move.

Sharpedo loves it if when it doesn't die while setting up. that's never btw

unless you're playing on ranked wifi, it doesn't matter. with max Amie you have a base 30% crit rate which can be even further upped with high crit moves/focus energy.

You just got lucky as fuck there I think, the only thing you're using is Scope Lens so your crit ratio is at level 2, which is still just 12.5%. At 3 though it jumps to 50% though, 100% at 4

Due to their being only 4 stages now, and you start at stage 1, you get boosted straight up to stage 4 (1+2+1).

Actually I should correct myself, Sniper Kingdra has the strongest. Salamence and Flygon are the fastest Focus Energy dragons with 100, but it only has 110 and 80 Special Attack. Hydreigon has a draco meatier special attack of 125, with only 98 speed. I briefly considered trying out Modest for the sheer power but that 98 speed is annoying, and being able to outspeed more things helps a lot.

Drapion doesn't need it. Both of its stabs have increased crit chance.

Also I've been running an assault vest drapion that just happened to end up with battle armor. Glad to know I'm immune to this shit if I ever run into it online.

What's nice is that FE remedies the fact that you can't have a Choice item (bar Scarf) on them. It's not as good as a SD or NP now, but it does go through defense boosts. How often do you see those, anyway, though?

So GF changed base crit damage to x1.5 and allowed for 100% critrate ala Slash from Gen1 again (with setup).
But is Sniper still 3x crit damage or was it nerfed too to match the new changes or did they leave it as is to passively buff it by nerfing crits for everyone that doesn't have it?

Kingdra has been OU because of Swift Swim, silly. But when Smogon banned Drizzle+Swift Swim it was shut down to UU (but still used occasionally in OU because it works great in rain teams).

The bad thing is that you lose a turn setting up and also loose your item slot, to not count most of the relevant users (like Kingdra) are too slow to do shit after the setup, you may think "I'll just use something like tailwind in doubles" but at this point it would be better to just spam shit from the first turn with other mons.

Well it was mostly just for a decent coverage against Fairy, especially Azumarill which would be immune to Draco Meteor and resist Scald (not that it's great at doing so but still).
And of course have future coverage against Whimsicott (only Grass/Fairy there is).

Honestly even though it has shit accuracy I think it's worth considering Hydro Miss over Scald. The extra power really puts some oomph into attacks especially considering Sniper crit. Of course if you want to use Kingdra as psuedo-support burning shit that's cool too
