GUYS I know this doesn't have much to do with Australia, but... I've always wanted to see a special Quick Attack. The exact same move essentially, just special. >>16128202 That was my idea - I was thinking pseudo or legendary, not fossil.
I think we need to work out what, exactly, are going to be fossils and what are going to just be 'ancient', like Mamoswine and Yanmega and Relicanth? Australia is... well, damn old, so we can honestly get away with having a fair few ancient types. Just thinking back at the ancient/possible fossils ideas, we have:
Minmi (Cretaceous)
Bullockornis (Miocene)
Megalania (Pleistocene)
Diprotodon (Pleistocene)
Thylacine (modern)
And I think there's been a few others.
Of those, I think Minmi and Bullockornis would probably make the best fossils, since they're the oldest (and, er, despite what I just said about not initially seeing Bullockornis as a fossil. The Pleistocene pair... Diprotodon is definitely my favourite, and I love the idea of a modern wombat learning Ancient Power and evolving into a beast the size of a hippo, but I can also see a similar situation with a modern goanna evolving into Megalania with Ancient Power. And maybe the Thylacine could be a Relicanth-type situation? Maybe people THOUGHT it was extinct, but suddenly, a comeback!

Imagine a mouse/rat/gerbil kind of Pokemon, with a long, thin tail. Towards the end of the tail, the tail becomes a wide, rigid tube. The Pokemon is able to vent air through its tail into the tube, and has a habit of cramming random items into its tail so it can shoot them at enemies like the world's most adorable air-gun. I'm thinking it would be Normal/Ground.

>>16131923 Oh, I thought you were the numbat - bandicoot artist.
Jeez, this decision is tough. I might actually go for the latter one, to be honest.
Have you considered drawing the roadrunner?
Or maybe some kind of tire pokemon.

>>16131817 Ah, that's just what I was trying to draw for the first evo. Nice work.
Second one... yeah, too Vespiqueen. Maybe it doesn't have to fly - could be land-dwelling as well?

We should also think about more inanimate pokemon.
Maybe some ghosts for Hobart's gym? Like shackles.

@everyone else
My issue with the Roadrunner/Numbat rivalry is that it's not a real life rivalry like Mongoose/Viper and Anteeater/Ant.

>>16132285 Road + Roadkill. The inanimate association is just as valid as the animal one.
