Last time, Flo was taking some pictures of Sootopolis from the cliffside the abandoned house was on. There was an undermanned guard station nearby, and she was on the lookout for any guards on patrol.

The duo could spot quite a sight from their position. Several guard posts were set up all along the city, some even extending right up the side of the cliff walls itself, some places looked battle scarred and other places looked abandoned but all in all it was an extremely well set up design, everything designed to make moving around the city or entering it a death trap.

The biggest changes to the city itself was the series of docks constructed along side the Gym building, which looked completely overhauled.
The second biggest change was the fenced in area outside of the Cave of Origin, which seemed to be holding a mixture of civilians and what looked to be some sort of soldiers or grunts of some kind. Most of their clothing replaced with civilian attire.

This searching would reveal the defenders as well. The groups all were dressed somewhat similar, though their colorings showed a significant number of differences and divisions.

The most common they could make out where the gray uniformed ones, who seemed to be the majority of the guards and workers, most of them lining most of the guard stations as well as guarding the prison camp. Most of them seemed pretty average looking in strength, most looking extremely bored. Some were carrying dated weapons but a few other were carrying more modern equipment.
It looked that several of them seemed to have at least one or two pokeballs on them.

The second group was almost universally around the docks, wearing Dark Blue uniforms and even sailor outfits, these men were clearly sailors of some kind, it seemed strange that they would have sailors just standing around without any ships and they themselves seemed to be even more bored than the gray uniformed ones, most of them watching the water or chatting with each other, most didn't have pokeballs or weapons but some were nearby.

The next group was a relatively rarity and hard to notice at first, dressed similar to the gray ones these Green uniformed soldiers looked to be far more dangerous than the other guards, most of them however were located around the pokemon center though several could be spotted on the mountain walls faintly.

The final groups were in a class of their own, dressed in pure black, these men looked deadly and as they would walk through the group even the rest of the guards would move aside from them. There were only one or two of them that could be seen from where they were, either way they looked to either be bosses or something else.

From where they were they couldn't spot the clown or anyone else important, nor did they have any idea where the captured pokemon could be. They did notice however that a group of gray guards were walking up the hillside path towards them, looks like the patrol was on the way back.

The flower focused some energy in it's palm, but it looked like a weak flash attack and let it slowly drop onto the Slakoth. The lazy pokemon gave a small yelp and then slowly turned over. It laid there wandering what had happened and why the world would not slow way the fuck down for it to have time to think about what had just happened.

"Just...return Violet," holding out the ball for her pokemon to return to homeostasis, she looked at the sloth deep in thought. Maybe another lazy pokemon could get through to it. Calling Blue, her blastoise over to her, she simply pointed at the sloth. He knew what to do. He waddled over and sat next to the brown lump and squirted some water out of his cannons. Slakoth seemed to like this. Glorious Leader smiled. Looks like the two had hit it off.

She took out all the rocks she had gotten from Kalos. A lot of people seemed to like to share them and if she saw one she wanted she took it. She was still a criminal after all. She dropped her dirty clothes in the bathroom and took out her log book. All four years written in blue pen. Flipping to one of the last empty pages she sat quietly as Violet moved around the room rearranging things to fit the fairies' tastes. She wrote in bold letters "HOW TO GET MY $ BACK".

The second one with the bomb still active would get a burst of gunfire on the stairway thankfully missing him... seems that the steps themselves were a death trap to anyone, friend or foe...

The Fifth basement floor was locked down too with the exception of two heavy side doors which stood wide open... and it seemed that even on that hallway another turret began clicking on... they'd have only a few seconds to get into the rooms... the question is, did the first grunt trust that the second grunt's bomb was also fake?

In one of the Rare Hunters' secret bases, Melvin stood in front of the two clones that had recently been delivered. Behind him was the jury-rigged hybridization machine his minions had put back together, powered by the briefcase-sized Mist Reactor Alex and Rosaline had retrieved for him. With the Millennium Rod in one hand and the Key in the other, he pointed them at one of the clones, which was tied up and in a Rare Hunter cloak. Golden energy flowed through and around the artifacts, shooting through the air and swirling around the body, infusing it with a new life force. As the clone's new inhabitant gasped and coughed for breath. Melvin stuffed a cloth in its mouth and secured it with duct tape before moving on. The lunatic turned his artifacts on the second clone. The same process followed, but the energy this time seemed wild and chaotic. Rather than swirling about, it bolted and crackled, leaving parts of the body charred as it flailed violently on the ground before settling into an eerily still position. This one was not tied up, and its Hunter robe was now left with small burned holes in it. Slowly, it moved its arms and pushed itself up to a wobbly standing position. It examined its new hands and scrawny arms. "Weak and frail. I hope this machine of yours' works."

Laughing, Melvin opened the door to the hybridization chamber, "Let's find out, shall we?" As the now occupied clone body entered and closed the door behind it, Melvin took out a vial with a black hair in it and placed it in the small slot for the DNA to be infused. Altering the machine's ratios and dials, he powered it up. Despite the intense pain the process caused, the chamber within was silent. When the lights died down and the whirr of machinery stopped, the door popped open and fell off its hastily repaired hinges. Out stepped a man with long dark red hair and strangely stoney skin. He cast aside the Hunter cloak and walked over to the table, dressing in the new outfit waiting.

The place looked like a place to store tools and... if the rare hunters or whoever they were were somehow still tracking the grunts mentally or some other means, both of them would seem to disappear the moment they entered the rooms...

Outside the halls the turrets switched off as the doors of the hallway locked down as well.

Depending on how much time left, the grunt could try and unhatch the vest himself.
