What was the most excited gen for /vp/?
For me it had to be gen 2. I got Yellow when I was 6 and I loved it, then gen two came out and I was like "I HAVE TO HAVE IT".
Gen 1 was great at the time, but gen 2? With gen 1 it was just there, you wanted it and you got it and you didn't expect a sequel. You went and caught all the pokemon and beat your rival and you were happy.
But Gen 2.. you saw it. The anticipation. The feeling of new pokemon, a new game, it was overwhelming. Then getting into the game, all the crisp colors and far more detailed sprites. The new, amazing pokemon as well as the old. Exploring this whole new region and finding out you can go back to Kanto. Getting to fight Red!
I just.. I can't put into words what I felt when I started playing Silver. It was a truly amazing feeling, no Pokemon game since has given me that feeling of excitement and joy. I've enjoyed them to be sure, but nothing compares to what I felt playing Silver for the very first time.
