Why didn't they just retcon Mega Shiny Garchomp/Gengar? I highly doubt people would have a problem with that.

Also, Mega Charizard X/Y both had really good potential. it just seemed lazy to me

I fought one of these last night, I seriously couldn't tell it was shiny until the animation .
How could they really sit there and say
"yeah this is a good color scheme for a 1/8000 something pokemon"

Then theres stuff like Yamega, Charizard, and Diggersby who have a true alternative color swap.
Most shinies are fucking horrid.

I don't understand why half the shinies are so god damn ugly. It's not like the devs don't understand color theory as the original pokemon often have great palettes. Meanwhile, shiny sprites get a clusterfuck of opposing colors like pinks, greens, browns, oranges, etc or a microscopic tint/brightness/contrast variation so that you can hardly tell that they're shiny in the first place.

OP here. Seeing Ninetales in that picture reminded me that it's my favorite shiny.

Not hard on the eyes like the vomit green ones, fairly simple color change, and overall just pleasing to the eye.

We need more shinies like this.

I've thought about the complimentary colors thing also. I think it's a great idea. I've heard other arguments saying that an inverted color scheme would look better, but I think that the complimentary colors are a much simpler and and better direction.

I generally hate the fact that most shinies are predictable. All you have to do is look at the color scheme and put two and two together.

Example: both Shaymin and Lilligant have similar color schemes in their original sprites and their shinies also have the same scheme.
