Why did Gen I have so many Poison types?
I mean, there are basically more Poison types in Gen I than all the other generations together.

Because Gen 1 Poison was the Evil type of it's time. Dark didn't exist yet.

Because gen 1 was more about typing pokemon of how they looked, they realized that was retarded so they changed that.
