I'm a newfag to competitive battling so I might be missing something but I've wondered something ever since I found out what competitive battling is: If some people don't like Smogon's rulesets or their mentality or whatever, why do they insist on changing them to suit their opinions? Why not just play by other rules? Even I've done it.
