I'm not implying that battling's ever been fun against anyone other than your friends, but 90% of teams on Showdown and ingame are looking more identical than they've ever been before.

Pokébank will offer no relief because it just means everyone's gonna add Thundurus or Heatran to their existing lineups.

Yeah, that's how competition works. You built a team specifically to counter it, congrats, you're smarter than the people who can only follow the cookie cutter format. I don't follow why that takes the value or enjoyment out of using any of these guys, to me it just seems like a hipster mentality.

Using the same team as everyone else doesn't make you any worse of a player, it just makes you boring as fuck.

I get super excited when someone's got a really unconventional team that still manages to work in a metagame that's become really unbalanced and in favour of specific combinations - they're much more fun to play against because they're not as predictable.

Whenever I see a Klefki, getting paralyzed and swagged all over is even less fun than usual because I knew it was coming.

I'm using a team of my bug bros (Scolipede, Leavanny, Volcarona, Crustle, Durant, Galvantula), but it's still pretty easy to outplay me.

I just hope they had fun seeing different pokemon.

I used to play Wifi ranked Triple battles for a while and this is what 95% of the teams were:

I usually won all the matches since although the Pokemon themselves are not bad, the players sure as hell were. I stopped playing altogether because I got bored saying "oh, it's that team again" at every team preview. By far the best battle I had was against some Japanese dude who used a Trick Room + Perish Song stall team with Pokemon like Jigglypuff in it and completely wiped the floor with me. I wasn't mad or disappointed at all after losing, I was impressed and relieved that there still were people who didn't use "five sweepers + Smogon Sword" teams.

Gets annoying having to face trashcans who think theyre good for using un-EVd ubers they heard were OP online, just to have them ragequit when you throw them in the dumpster.

HP/Def. The only thing you gotta worry about is crits and special/mixed attackers.

You can run EQ/Rock Slide/Curse too if you want but I found status netted me more damage and kills.

I personally have no problem if I run into people using the same things that I do, I just feel kind of awkward using things like Talonflame and Aegislash because I know people will assume that I copy and pasted them for their power and not because I actually liked them beforehand.

I know it doesn't actually affect me, and may actually bring benefit if people underestimate me, but still.

It's similar to actually liking Politoed as a Pokemon gen 2-4 and then Drizzle happening.

I'm not taking Toxic stall Gliscor off my team, the last battle I used him against an imposter Ditto(killed my Haxorus) and when he realized he could never do enough damage I couldn't roost off, he disconnected.
I wish you could save videos where they disconnect.

People are really stupid, when you only have one pokemon that is strong against most of my team, you would handle it a bit more carefully

am I just a shitty OU using scrub? I have been having thoughts about switching ninetales and vileplume with a charizard y and a chloro venasaur, they are just better in every conceivable way

If you want to, you can run Victreebel pretty effectively. Take a look into it, he's extremely solid in a sun team.

Charizard y is your best choice outside of Groudon though.
