People still wonder why pokemon attracts autist?
Allow me to explain.
People with autism usually hook with a certain thing, showing huge interest. However, with something as simple to understand as pokemon, (or sanic, mlp ect ect.) It feels perfect to the autist. However I see this as a problem, since the introduction of video games, more and more aspies are obsessed with the imaginary world; thus they spend time learning information that won't help in the real life.
Example: One autist could show a deep interest in insects, and whatever other small organisms. This autist grows studying and learning about bugs, and could go into science when he is older (I'm somewhat Exaggerating, but you get the point). BUT a other autist, or even the one interested in bugs, discovers the world of pokemon, a world that is simple, has 'animals' to discover, and best of all to the aspie, no one tells them what to do and let's them do what they want. This autist, rather then growing up with scientific knowlege, settles into the fake world, the results often are: weight gain, poor self-image, socially retarted, and.. A fedora.
Tl;dr: autistics get obsessed with things, and video games are turning them into neckbeards because of it.
