>>16197418Kamen Rider is a slightly more mature franchise that (most of the time) focuses less on the team dynamic that Super Sentai has, instead choosing to have one to four (rarely more) Riders that are often out for their own goals, with their only common link being fighting monsters. The original Rider series followed a more typical formula - hero gets kidnapped by evil organization, gets turned into a cyborg, escapes, proceeds to fight evil organization, whereas the new shows have drastically different premises and stories. For instance, the current running Rider series is about fruit themed samurai (which is admittedly insane, but the show is also surprisingly really good so far), whereas a few years back we had two detectives combining forces with the powers of the elements. The thing about Rider is, other than the fact that the hero WILL kick things, it no longer follows very strict rules.
If you want, try starting a thread on /m/ asking the same question. /m/ is a pretty nice board most of the time and we usually welcome newcomers (rather than shitflinging about spoonfeeding like on /a/ and the like) well enough, so your questions will probably get better answers there if you feel these haven't helped.
(On that note, if you're interested in trying anything, Kamen Rider W and OOO are great places to start for modern Rider, or you can jump into Gaim which is only a few episodes in, while most Sentai series are good - the current one, Kyoryuger, is among one of the best so far. Direct DLs can be found at a site called krdl and if you want to torrent, just put the titles into nyaa or hit up Over-Time's website.)
