Play with it and rotate your team regularly. If you use about 14 pokemon it becomes perfectly balanced.

Maybe they should have Exp share, with exp scaling to level like in pokemon black. And then a pokemon champ who uses 6 level 100 Audinos.

Final fantasy gives you more than four party members, you are only allowed 4 at the same time. so you have to rotate to make sure some other useful characters are useable. that way your team isn't overpowered. why is pokemon any different?

I enjoy wasting time raising team members so I generally play with the EXP Share off and I have 9 or 10 Pokemon that I rotate between. I just beat the 7th gym yesterday, I was a little overleveled since I had a few Pokemon at level 50 for the Battle Spot.

I had 6 pokemon with exp share off and did no grinding other than not avoiding trainers on purpose, after I beat the champion they were all 54-55. Still easy.
