Hey /vp/,

Am I the only one who wouldn't be mad if we skipped Hoenn remakes and instead we get new Sinnoh games?

I actually love Hoenn but I finally went to that house in Snowbelle city and...it made me realise how much fucking fun I had in Sinnoh, not to mention it had the best music in the franchise IMO.

Even if you think Sinnoh is better than Hoenn, what sense does it make to go Kanto -> Johto -> Sinnoh?

Sinnoh is too new anyway. Not enough nostalgia yet, not to mention the DS isn't technically dead.

Why not just remake Platinum and Emerald at the same time? Ruby/Sapphire sucked and so did Diamond/Pearl.

It is still possible to xfer 3rd gen into 6th gen yea, but it's a hassle. Especially if you don't have a DS/Lite. Not to mention 3rd gen mechanics are really outdated by now, so it would be nice to enhance and update them with today's standards.

Also, think about the fact that RSE was released when Pokemon was at a low point in popularity - kids of today probably don't know about them, or haven't played them. So it would be like a whole new game, it might even get popular by riding XY's coattails.

That is kinda interesting.

However, while it's true that I didn't like R/S, a remake should be precisely to re-do them right. But if they don't have Battle Frontier in the remakes, I'll be fucking mad.

Compared to all the other Pokemon games, they aren't. But yeah they are #1 in GBA sales, it's just lots of people say they were the lowest selling in the Pokemon franchise alone, so apparently they're shit.

I loved every pokemon game but I will say immediately that Sinnoh was the weakest link. This may be because I didn't play Platinum, and I keep hearing good things about it, but nonetheless the region as a whole was pretty mediocre.

Hoenn was just so foreign to me, when those games came out. Gold/Silver had seemed like a logical progression, and oh hey, you even get to go back to Kanto! Awesome. But R/S was something completely new and different. From finding a Dark-type on the first route, which was amazing to me then, all the way to the glorious mindfuck of the Regi puzzle, I say without shame that I eagerly await the Hoenn remakes, if they ever happen. Hell, just replaying Ruby with the physical/special split would be awesome.
