Even if you consider Kanto the post-game of HGSS (which would be retarded, the whole draw of the games is the two regions - they're part of the main game), Kanto being empty and devoid of anything to do but go to eight buildings and fight in them doesn't even begin to qualify as a decent post-game.

PWT was the highlight of the entire game. It was a series of tournaments where you face off against every gym leader from the entire franchise. The best part is that they were challenging without requiring EV trained Pokemon to win.

Generation I doesn't count:
- first games in the series
- Blue, as a solitary version to Red/Green, didn't add nothing new and was just a patch
- Yellow, as the second solitary version, was just a cash-in on the anime's success and a way to buy Gsme Freak time to finish Gold/Silver, the first direct sequels in the series (to Red/Green).

Generation V doesn't count either because Black 2/White 2 are sequels, not solitary versions.
