If I need egg moves or hidden abilities should I try to maintain them from the beginning or breed them in later?

You could try for a great male first and then breed that with a low IV female with the ability and pokeball type you want but it'd probably be faster just going for it from the start.

If you're wanting to breed something later that doesn't need a hidden ability and happens to be in the same egg group as the Pokemon you're wanting to do now do that first. It'd be quicker and you can use any good males from it to help speed up this harder project.
