At least it was male so I can use it to pass IVs. Funny thing is that I ended up with another 6 IV big pecks male before I got a 5 IV gale wings fletchling.

In my experience, getting 5 perfect IV offspring is uncommon enough, even when breeding two parents with 5 perfect IVs. The randomly passed stats almost always include that one IV that isn't perfect. Get what I'm saying? And on top of that, you need to get lucky for that last IV to be 31, it's completely random. The chances of passing down all 5 IVs exactly AND getting the last one to be perfect are pretty damn low.

I've been gathering a 5IV male of each egg group (one missing attack, one missing special attack) so that you can breed pretty much anything quickly

6IV are hard to get but not are not crazy rare (about 3 boxes starting from 5IVs - assuming the non perfect IV is different on each parent).

Odds of getting a 6IV pokemon:

2x 5IV: 1/93
1x 6IV + 1x 5IV: 1/53

Ditto that has the IVs he doesn't have. Once you have two Froakies of the opposite sex and both have IVs the partner doesn't, you can begin banging them together. Hidden abilities has low chance of being passed on from a father though.

And yes, you are good to go, but you will lose Protean if you breed with a female without it. Only way to keep Protean as a male Froakie is to breed with a Ditto.
