Yeah it was a fun region. Especially on BW2. I enjoyed seeing the 2-year changes, the challenge mode key to battle a better E4 (I was able to get a hard mode key when starting my game), and the post-game content. Black Tower was awesome. Especially in the last floors where you could only use a Doctor once, so it made it a bit more challenging.

Gen 5 had:

B/W had the best story in the series
Great music but not the best
A linear as fuck region that was literally just walk in a line. The routes were complete shit, most of the towns were shit. Castelia was a clusterfuck of walking forward.

Overall it's not the best in my opinion, but decent.

Agreed, OP. Gen VI has improved gameplay, but Gen V is still the best at a lot of things. And while I like some things about Kalos, Unova remains my favorite region. It has a great atmosphere, and was very diverse and exiting.

I dont see how people prefer BW2 over BW. Took me months to complete because of how boring it was. Sure, the larger regional dex was nice, but it just felt like BW1 with a more boring story... and I already played BW1.

Fucking this. I played White right before heading on to White 2 for a plot refresh. The plot of White 2 was shit unfortunately. And at times, I felt like I was playing White, and not a sequel. Fuck, some of the items were even in the same place.

Seriously. This is one of the biggest selling points of BW for me. The fact that I loved all of the Pokemon helped, but even if I hadn't, it would still have been worth it.

Then XY just does a complete 180 to the point of making so many of the new Pokemon stupidly rare.

But at least for me, that was really, really big. I always hoarded TMs in previous generations, and rarely used one that wasn't available to be repurchased. The infinite TM thing allowed me much for flexibility in movesets, and really opened up the game for me more than in previous generations. Maybe this wouldn't be the same for everyone, but at least for me, that minor change made the game a lot better.

Also, seasons, animated sprites, triple/rotation battles, a somewhat different storyline, better online play, a region based on somewhere other than Japan... reusable TMs wasn't the only new thing.

I felt the opposite. I really struggled to want to finish B/W the further I got, and by the time I beat the game I didn't want to do anything. No Battle Subway, no extra stuff, the most I did was get Kyurem. I really got tired of the encounter rate as well, buying Repels felt absolutely mandatory if I didn't want a battle every three steps.

Gen V1 is the worst gen of all time. Gen V2 is good. The only decent pokemon form gen V are Chandelure, Gigalith, Zoroark, Lilligant, Scolipede, Volcarona, Galvantula, Whimsicott, Darmanitan, Krookodile, Scrafty, Archeops, Eelektross, Golurk, and Braviary.
How anyone can believe that this quantity over quality generation is anything other than shit is beyond me. I'm not even sticking around to hear your shitty opinions.

I can't remember the Hoenn E4. Does that make them bad just because I personally can't remember them? In fact, Gen 4 was the first generation that they gave the E4 some actual personality beyond the few lines of text that every other one had prior.

Gen1's memorable at least for being Gen 1, that's always gonna be a thing.
Gen 2 had stuff like Koga and the returning members from Gen 1.
Gen 3 were pretty forgettable and almost no better. At least they had cool designs even if they had no character. I would've loved to see hawaiian ghost girl and captain outrage get some more development. I'm not calling them any better than Gen 4 though. They were bad as well, but they would stand out while you're fighting them.

A single meething/fight with Flint doesn't make that entire elite 4 any better than any other Elite 4. That barely puts him on par with Bruno and Marshal.

Gen 4 really doesn't deserve any praise for being "ever so slightly better than Gen 3 and nothing else"

Oshawott wasn't the only one of the trio that was shat on, retard. They were all shouted down. Hell out of all the flame wars on here, the opinion on the Unova starters was fairly uncontested. They had shit stat-spreadsand shit movepools. The Oshawott line was for the most part considered ugly, with Samurott looking really out of place. And of course, Emboar as yet ANOTHER fire fighter, except this time, with trash speed along with trash defences.

Gen 1 is only memorable because nostalgia, same with the Gym Leaders. I bet any amount of mony that if they weren't the "original" gymleaders/E4 they would be unanimously considered the most bland and forgettable.
Gen 2 only had Koga and Bruno because they are returning characters and had the Gen I nostalgia to fuel that
Gen 3 was completely forgettable except for Drake, but even he was wasted potential

Gen 4 at least let you meet Lucian and Flint outside of the League to further build character, if even by a little. Everyone before that point could ONLY be found in the Pokemon League, or in Koga's case, his gym. They went further with improving the personality with Gen 5 but fucked that up again with Gen 6 by making everyone only appear in their gym/E4 area.

Agreed. Gen V is the best. Actual human characters, an attempt at a story, the best music, and most of the new Pokemon were at least useable. Unova is linear as hell, but it's damn pretty to look at.

I dont see why people hate on the starters so much in Gen V.
To be completely honest, I think Emboar had one of the best designs. Sure he's not exactly the best competitive wise, but I thought overall, the starter designs were cool.
