What's the fastest way to get high friendship in this game? From what I understand Amie doesn't actually raise friendship.

Equip Soothe Bell
Go to Central Lumiose
Jerry-rig your control pad to make you circle around constantly
Go do something else

Wouldn't that take forever though?

I just give it a Soothe Bell, massage, feed friendship raising berries.

Get Befriending Power.
Go to Le Wow, activate the O Power, do Rotation or Triples.
Battle. Your Pokémon will probably evolve half-way through.

Things that help:
Luxury Ball
the Pokémon is a Baby (they have higher base happiness)
