FAQS:
-Is this going to be a game/rom hack/computer game?
We hope so. We're still in the idea stages, but we have people working on parts of every aspect: story, pokemon and character design, spriting music, maps, RPGmaker - this is looking to be a reality.
-Isn't this just Gen /vp/ 2.0?
Well, it is a fan game made by people on /vp/ featuring a suite of newly-designed Pokemon. This is where the similarities end, however. They are doing their own thing, and we are doing our own thing.
-KANGAROO STARTER?!/1?1
There are tons of Kangaroo ideas to work with, chill son.

Hey folks, gen/vp/ bro here. Just came in out of curiosity since I was told that you guys like to shit all over us... we don't do that to you. Anyone who comes to your thread to fuck with you has nothing to do with us, and if they claim to be with us they're just trying to cause a shitstorm between our groups. We don't even talk shit about you within our own thread that much. That said, we would appreciate it if you stopped telling people to "Go back to genvp/" as if it were an insult, we may be in late-ish stages but we've got a great group of people working hard. It's not hard for us to coexist.
Card
>>16227254 That's not us, either. There's a subgroup that exists between us just to start shit.
The core of our group wants to be on good terms with gen/vp/ so we can both do well without stepping on each other.
On another note, drew some starters and dinghosts.

Pranxious Prawn Pokemon Water A common delicacy, these pokemon are fished in no small number. Usually grilled on a barbeque. Generations of being hunted has led Pranxious to be skittery and easy to spook, relying on Brawnbeque to protect schools of them. They secrete a slippery ooze over their shell when under stress, giving them a worried look even when underwater. This ooze makes them difficult to handle by hand. When no Brawnbeque are around, Pranxious will dive deep to find sulfar vents to try to evolve. Brawnbeque (Evolves from Pranxious via Fire Stone; Wild have 5% chance of holding Charcoal) Prawn Pokemon Water/Fire When exposed to extreme heat (either from a sulfar vent or a grill for instance), a Pranxious can spontaneously evolve into a Brawnbeque. Wild Brawnbeque are a threat to fishing vessels not only because of it's strength which it uses to capsize fishing vessels and surfing pokemon, but also to start fires on decks. Grills marks on their carapace are a mark of respect, and the more grilling a Brawnbeque endured, the higher rank it is. When it is preparing a fire move, the grill marks on it's carapace glow like smoldering charcoal.

>>16243211 I was thinking... What would the evolution line for Dyngheist be? Pic related.
Evolution idea 1: Starts off as a normal type dingo Pokemon ( Someone else can design it, I can't think of anything that looks good ). At level 30 and above, it evolves if you give it a rare candy after it has fainted. The Dingo evolves into Dyngheist - a Normal/Ghost type Pokemon (So it's like it has died and come back as a ghost (suggested by New York and some anons)). If Dyngheist breeds, it produces eggs of a pre evo (which again, someone can redesign, my current idea is that it's similar to Zorua in some aspects - creative, I know) as it wouldn't make sense for a ghost's offspring to be a normal living thing as opposed to another ghost. Pre evo evolves with a dusk stone or something.
Evolution idea 2: We throw everything in the last idea out the window and we make Dyngheist the Lucario/Zoroark of Nullos. In the threads a Dingo was suggested quite a lot for the Lucario/Zoroark esque and Dyngheist is Dingo/Tylacine based. It's simple - the pre evo, at level 30 and above has high friendship (friendship value is 220 or higher) and evolves into Dyngheist. Dyngheists produce pre evo eggs.
Any thoughts?

Here's one of the maps I've made for the New Zealand E4 area today. I've made others, but I haven't made them look nice enough yet. This is the Nullos equivalent of Lake Taupo. It's roughly the same size as the Lake of Rage. Markings mean the same things as usual. Scribbles are grass, crosses are water, circles are trees, blobs with shading on the lower-right are rocks, etc. There are a couple new symbols I'm using here, though. The club symbol is a cuttable tree, while double-crosses are diveable water. The idea with this map is that you can dive in the middle of the lake, and there'll be a secret passage which opens up beneath the mysterious rock carving once a certain event has happened or a special criterion has been fulfilled. Once inside the cave, there may be some kind of New Zealand-themed legendary. I also threw in a few item balls because reasons. Thoughts?

>POST 1/2. I was thinking about 2 kind of counterpart spiders. Pic related is the Jewel Spider. We could make it a 2 stages line oriented towards special attack. I say Bug/Rock and learning Power Gem and Bug Buzz by level. Since they come in so many awesome designs we could have like 4 variations: Red/White, Green/Black, Yellow/Black, Black/White. Jerach (Jewel + Arachnid)>Pre-Evo BST: 305 42 / 50 / 53 / 62 / 58 / 40 Starachne (Star Spider + Arachnid)>Final Stage (@level 32/35?) BST: 450 62 / 60 / 80 / 95 / 82 / 71 Please review/rate/comment.

>>16244776 I am in favor of this - it sounds fucking FANTASTIC. FUND IT. A fleshed out and cleverly thought up legendary, probably one of the most well made ideas I've ever seen. Even the lead up to it is incredible. It cooperates elements of the myth into the Pokemon design and build up towards finding it. Apologies for the ass kissing, this is literally the most perfect idea on the PokeAus threads.
(The Funny Bone replacing the signature move might seem hard to implement though)

While I'm at it, some ideas for the Rainbow Serpent: Assume it's the uber, so it has 680-720 BST.>Type: Water/Dragon >Ability: Omnitype What does it do? Faggot, it makes the serpent permanently every type simultaneously so it gains STAB on everything and has all the appropriate strengths/weaknesses. Because it's a rainbow, motherfucker. Call it Prisnambi or Prismambi, originating from Prismatic (rainbow) and Wonambi, an extincy species of giant snake that may have been the inspiration for the serpent legends>But Anon, you're being a faggot, another hack is using Prismambi as a name! No shit, faglord. I came up with the name for that hack, but then the creator group imploded and it's probably never going to be used again. Nullos is already doing much better. Have it able to use all of Arceus' plates, because fuck it, why not, it's a giant creator being too. For Prismambi though the plates should act like Aerliate or Pixielate, transforming all Normal moves into the type of the held plate alongside the regular 20% boost. Obviously most of this is pointless if it is decided to go with a Zygarde forme and I know a lot of it is silly, but hey, get it out there and people can either throw it aside or incorporate bits, no skin off my nose.

>>16244992 >>16244881 The problem is that in the end they're just fucking spiders. I love spiders but since people seem to want the three chasing legendaries to be spiders already we are risking an overload of the things.
Secondlyh, how the hell is the second one not called Awrapnid or some slightly better variant?
The BSTs look alright, but I am generally in support of any fully-evolved mon having at least 475 BST at an absolute bare minimum unless it has a very specialised gimmick.
I like the way you've differentiated the two lines by game mechanics/stat builds and purposes, so really it's just an issue of there being so many damned spiders.

>>16245042 Oh lordy, not all that much to go on with that one. Gimme some time to read up on the Peramangk tribe where the legend is believed to originate from, as well as some other Aboriginal legends, and I'll see if I can brew up anything.
I personally could see Prismambi and Yominka as potentially the two mascots, but life and death seems a bit too similar to X & Y.
By the way, I totally suggest calling it Yominka.
Yomi is the japanese name for the land of the dead and serves as a sort of tie to the Japanese origins of Pokemon, and Minka is obviously pretty self-explanatory.

>>16245081 Instead of life and death themes, why not a theme about everything having a beginning and ending (after it has served its purpose) or the cycle of living things - everything gives way to another thing. I guess I'll leave it up to you - you're really creative and know your shit.
inb4 it's the same thing with different wording So, is Pokemon Champion version pretty much dead? Anonymous
I've kind of been obsessing over that adorable platypus that was posted a while ago. So I decided to colour it in and I love it so much.
Anonymous
>>16245081 >>16245042 >>16245177 Okay, let's see... I haven't got any sort of encounter method yet, but if I was going to put it anywhere it'd be on an isolated little balcony/outside area you can only reach through the ice caves north of Gym 4, since the tribe it came from is from the Adelaide region. It hides in this outcrop of rock for a good reason, since the sound of its voice is an invocation of death for anyone who hears it.
There's probably something extra you have to do to make it show up but that can be sorted out later.
>YOMINKA >The Deathcry Pokemon >Psychic/Flying >Ability: Doomcall >Whenever Yominka uses a sound-based move, the effects of Perish Song are also applied. Yominka is immune to Perish Song. Any time Yominka uses a sound-based move its happiness drops a bit. >The sound of a YOMINKA crowing is said to bring death to all who hear it. Because of this, YOMINKA is a shy, reclusive creature that has developed telepathy as an alternate way to communiate with others. >Plenty of psychic/flying moves of course, and a smattering of sound moves like Hyper Voice or Boomburst or whatnot. If you want to use it as a plot point then a rogue somebody wants to capture Yominka and broadcast the song it sings region-wide as a way to wipe out everyone who is too tied to technology, leaving only those who live the traditional bushland life to survive and live in harmony with the region and the Pokemon.
Essentially, make Yominka a totally unwilling party to and victim of its own abilities. Makes it a bit more sombre than edgybird Yvetal.
Champion Version is stalled right now, at the very least. Regardless of what status it has at the moment I coined the name Prismambi so I feel totally free to suggest it to you guys, especially knowing that Champion Version may (read: probably) never happen.

>>16244776 For it's design, how about being based upon on a Sharp snouted day frog? They were commonly found, ranging from Mount Graham to the Big Tableland, north Queensland. The species is believed to be extinct. Seeing how Tiddrought is a frog and found in the outback Queensland area, it seems to fit. It also fits that it has become extinct, seeing how the Aboriginal myths are quite old. Thoughts?
Anonymous
>>16245308 Actually, tacking on to this idea and possibly tying into the main theme a bit as well, all my previous ideas still work, but here's a little more:
Yominka's song is actually a Dreamtime Lullaby. When a person hears it they will soon enter The Dreaming Sleep and reunite with the world that we all spring from. For those who do not hear the song and must deal with the Sleeping person it is a tragedy as the person will never Wake again, but for the Sleeper it is simply a wonderful Dream.
After all, everything that Wakes must eventually Dream, such is the way of the world.

As the anon from
>>16245375 said, everyone head home, this is just too amazing.
Expanding on the plot idea that
> a rogue somebody wants to capture Yominka and broadcast the song it sings region-wide as a way to wipe out everyone who is too tied to technology, leaving only those who live the traditional bushland life to survive and live in harmony with the region and the Pokemon. I think the Rainbow Serpent could fit in perfectly into this. It is said that after the Rainbow Serpent was cut open by humans (in order to release two boys it had eaten (but they did, the boys had become birds)) it got enraged causing the mountains it had made to crumble, causing mass destruction, as the humans tried to flee they were turned into animals.
How about: some evil (in the eye's of the player until the plot's high point) team could be aware of the rogue's plan and try to stop him - instead they mess up and end up awakening the Rainbow Serpent somehow, becoming enraged it turns them all into Pokemon (and the player character into one too (as they are with the evil team at the time)). Then there's a segment where the player character is temporarily a Pokemon and must find and stop the rogue.
Ideas? I don't know, perhaps anon (the one who came up with the amazing legendaries (or maybe anyone else)) could expand on it or rethink it?

>>16245648 Okay, from now I'm I'll use a trip for elements of discussion, so at least people can clearly track stuff.
As for your ideas, there's definitely potential. I'm gonna go sleep on them, probably think about them at work a lot and then come back, hopefully with some more plot ideas.
I only fear that some people would find "being turned into a pokemon" to be hokey, but it happens all the goddamn time in mythology, and Bill already did it once, so we'll see.
Unrelated, have my chart of the legendaries as far as I am aware of them, in terms of any that have had some vague discussion/approval as yet. Hardly set in stone, just something for people to skim over easily enough to get up to speed on what they're discussing. If I've missed any please let me know guys.
