Gengar was never a threat in ubers, and even with the advent of Gengarite, it still won't be a big threat because of how hard everything hits and the turn you have to use up to activate mega evolution (and Shadow Tag).
I mean, just look at this

This would have been a huge thing, had it been in OU, but because of how fast paced ubers is, one kill is little more than a triviality because of how many of these things are massive threats on their own without any significant support. You've effectively lost as much momentum as our opponent has by going through with it.
