Greninja isn't mixed because it's running U-turn, U-turn is a utility move.

Also Hurricane isn't a shit move by default because it has shaky accuracy, especially given that rain is maximum doodoo this gen. Noivern's Special Attack is ass and Flying is an awesome STAB so there's never really a reason not to use the strongest moves you can can that aren't Hyper Beam or some stupid shit.

After a good 90+ Eggs, I finally have a 31/x/31/x/31/x HP Fire Natural Cure Roselia.

I'm considering a bulky offensive toxic spiker to take out, amongst other things, Gastrodon and Scizor, and hopefully ferrothorn and forretress, as well as bulky waters in general.

So after a bit of EV calculations, here's the set I've decided upon:
Roserade @ Black Sludge
Modest
252HP/120Def/132SAtk/4SDef
Toxic Spikes
Giga Drain
Sludge Bomb
HP Fire

It'll be the utility knife in my team too, so it'll absorb status and toxic spikes, and take care of faeries on the side.

What I want to know is, what should I look out for? What are its counters? Smogonbird is not an acceptable answer.

Same reason you invest in defense for Blissey. Avalugg won't be able to take everything, but a lot of things he can take one of. Otherwise you're completely forced out by any special attacker, including the ones that invest entirely in bulk.

Fuck, just run Hippowdon instead.

He already said he wants to run Mirror Coat.
He's going to survive any special attack regardless due to Sturdy and retaliate with a full power Mirror Coat, adding to Sp. Def reduces damage output and lets you survive nothing special.

You also forget that Avalugg has four times more weaknesses than Blissey does.

I have a 31/31/31/0/31/31 Venipede with adamant nature and speed boost, and want to make him a baton passer, protect is a must along with sword dance but dunno what else add, was thinking maybe poison jab and a bug STAB just in case it gets the chance to do some damage.

The thing I want to know is, what's the best EV spread for a batom passer?, investing in attack doesn't look so bad because after a sword dance it can still deal some damage, but then again since it's a baton passer, maybe investing in HP, DEF or SpDef is better...any advice?

The accuracy thing is more personal preference. And maybe the fact that I play doubles, maybe? Don't know. But Hurricane Noiverns don't tend to do so hot.

I missed that, somehow I read Magic Coat, which would actually be good for him so he doesn't get Toxic'd or Wisp'd and nothing sets up rocks, spikes, and seeds on him. Although he can't even use it.

That just brings more questions, though, since he's simultaneously trying to use Avalugg as an offensive wall with Recover and as a Sturdy Mirror Coater. He can't run both, as hazards are usually on the field, and Sturdy won't activate with them.

So, I'd run HP/SpD+. Mirror Coat still hits hard even with the EVs, and it wouldn't rely on Sturdy to be able to take the hit and return Mirror Coat.

I like assault vest on clawitzer a little better, but then again, that's because I've recently discovered the effectiveness of bulky offense.

Also, Ice Beam is generally more effective than Dragon Pulse due to it being able to 4x many dragons and various other things.

Flash Fire is a better ability than Infiltrator, even with the recent buff to it, and especially because you have two fireweak Pokemon on your team. I would also run a Choice Scarf on it, and go Timid, because it really needs speed. Trade Taunt for Trick, a Trick will hurt a support Pokemon just the same. You need a Pokemon to outspeed and check Mega-Gengar, and this is it.

Just do Shadow Ball on Cofagrigus, I know what you're trying to do with him, but consistent damage is better. However, I'd rather use physically defensive Prankster Sableye, as he deals with Aegislash better (Wisp goes through King's Shield). If you want Sableye, go Taunt - Seismic Toss - Recover - Wisp, running HP/DEF+ and Leftovers.

Go full HP/SpD+ on Jellicent, it's a Special Wall and should be used as such.

Trevenant is fine.

Run Shadow Claw on Aegislash over Shadow Ball, it likes priority and you have enough special attackers. Also, while Weakness policy will make it take damage from Earthquake, Aegislash in Shield forme has enough bulk to take one and it will make him all the deadlier. Dump all your SpA EVs into Attack and run Adamant.

I'd use Mega-Gengar to be honest, you can run the same set.

His sable eye should be running The ghost version of Seismic toss on sableye. Being able to hit ghosts is superior to being able to hit normals.

As for Aegislash, He should probably drop KS; his plan is to goes fast, so he either kills or gets the heck out, since he'll be in vulnerable state if he doesn't kill.

I'm playing on Pokemon Online, and MegaGengar is banned, so I don't have to worry about it. I had a Scarf, but surviving to revenge kill things that threaten my team has been more useful. I'll try Flash Fire, but it seems like that's what most people expect so I've had lots of things killed when they think they can put up a sub and be safe.

I'll try Sableye, but Mummy has gotten me out of some tight spots.

Jellicent's Def has a point, it lets him take about 50% heath from many SE moves that trouble my team, mainly Crunch from MegaKanga, and he can Recover the damage until Cursed Body does its thing and I have a chance to burn/confuse/poison.

I had a physical Aegislash, but kept getting burned and went to mixed. Will try the Weakness Policy.

Trick Room stall doesn't work. You don't "check" shit in a TR team. You destroy them.

Keep Gourgeist, Carbink and Clawitzer. The other three are useless. Replace them with three slow and strong Pokemon, such as Rhyperior, Ursaring, etc...

Actually Conkeldurr can work, but not with Sash. I wouldn't use it though, because it's an easy kill for Smogonbird.

I know, Taunt Users will destroy my Ferrothorn and Trevenant but in more than 5 hours in battles with these twos I never encountered an enemy pokemon who taunted one of these two. Maybe I'm just lucky.
Trevenant is fun as fuck.
HP fire on tentacruel because it´s unexpected and Scizors tears are so delicious.

Mega Pinsir is incredible good.

I know Roar ignores Subs, being Sound-based and all. Does Whirlwind do the same? If not, well, the switch should be obvious.

Never run Dark Pulse on Gengar, that's retarded. Ghost has pretty much the same coverage as Dark. Try the SubDisable set.

Coil is a given, and while more offensive builds with EdgeQuake and ES are appealing, I think you'd benefit more from Dragon Tail, EQ, and Glare to make a ParaShuffler.
You could also run Scizor. Bitches love Scizor.

Err, care to take a second look? Heracross, Krookodile, and Whimsicott all have protect, and Krookodile and Aromatisse both have spread moves. Suicune would have Surf if I had more water abusers, and I count electroweb as utility Heracross is for confirming kills on top threats.

I've had a bit of experience in doubles, and this team wins roughly half of the matches I put it in, but I'm totally open to suggestions: what would you recommend instead?

The only Fairies that see any use are Togekiss and Azumarill, and the former is hit much harder by Stone Edge and the latter is hit much harder by Earthquake.

Baton Pass isn't doing anything since you have basically 0% chance of actually passing stats off. Espeon is too fast and frail to scout out any switches. Pretty much your only use for that would be to use it against Mega Gengar before it evolves due to speed tie. But even then you have psyshock.

Run HP Fire or Ground instead so you can do shit against Klefki.

talonflame appreciates a boosting item more than keeping para/toxic off it imo and can probably afford to run adamant because the only thing you absolutely need to keep away from talonflame is talonflame and you have a talonflame counter in rotom-w
rotom likes pain split a bit more than sub, because rotom switches a lot
give scizor 248 hp evs and 4 special defense evs, so you only take 12% damage from sr as opposed to 13%, you're only saccing one hp for what could save your ass late game
either give espeon psychic or a hidden power so you dont get walled by ferro and skarm

yeah the gastrodon was pretty shitty, I switched him out. The idea on return for scizor is to hit TF switch in, but U-turn will probably work better. I like flamthrower on char x to hit ferrothorn and skarm mostly, he has a base 130 sp atk, seemed like a waste to not use it.

Breloom is still pretty great, I used a Mega Venusaur with a subseeding gimmick at one point and that was slightly hilarious. Choice Scarf Rotom-Cut is fantastic, especially for dealing with Wash. Lilligant has her uses if you can set her up. Roserade can set toxic spikes and has a fucking strong leaf storm. Gourgeist and Trevenant I'm seeing are pretty good defensively as well.

you might want to try out yache berry on mence so it can survive a mamo ice shard when not at full hp

i actually dont know what silver powder does but volcarona likes other items more, im sure

It has so many support options besides aerial ace. You're not even hitting anything with AA that you wouldn't without it. Thunder wave because that actually can support your team without awful defenses.

Blissy has SpD up the ass, go Bold 252 Def to actually tank a fighting move. In general (specifically for slowking) investing in HP is much better than splitting it among your defenses, a 252 HP ev spread is far superior to a 128/128 split. Tri attack is pointless on Magnezone, drop it for hidden power fire and maybe drop the toxic for substitute, also get magnet hold to be able to shit on Steels like Scizor, Ferrothorn and Skarmory.

The reason that I advised against Flamethrower was that, even against a 252/252+ Skarmory, Flare Blitz will deal about as much damage as Flamethrower thanks to your heightened Attack investment and Tough Claws. Considering that Skarmory has Sturdy, Fire Punch, Flare Blitz, and Flamethrower will all be 2HKOs... except the Physical moves will also be boosted by Dragon Dance, giving you much more power overall.

Crustle should either be a sweeper, or bulky attacker/support imo. Take out stealth rock for EQ is you want to sweep with him. It might be worth it to run Dusknoir, you may lose a little bulk, but you actually have a useable attack stat. Damp rock for Politoed if you want rain to stick around for a while.

Primeape seems out of place entirely. Few things boost without boosting Speed, so without a Scarf he's not getting much done with that. If you insist on using him, try Overheat to deal with Skarmory.

That Crustle set is horrifying, one built like that almost unscrewed my head and shat down my neck. That said, watch for Roar.

Dusclops just can't wall like it used to, but that set isn't bad.

Who benefits from rain besides Politoed and Heliolisk? I'd change Politoed out entirely. Tentacruel could use the same moveset to better effect.

That's assuming you're running Fire Punch, by the way. Flare Blitz only deals about 10% less damage to 252/252 Impish Skarmory than Flamethrower does, and both have a high chance to OHKO... again, this is BEFORE you've Danced. After a DD, Flare Blitz will kill pretty much everything that doesn't resist it, barring Sash/Sub/Sturdy. Fire/Dragon gives coverage on everything but Azumarill, Carbink, and Heatran, meaning you could also drop EQ for Roost.

Build around teams, things that you're weak to, things you can't deal with, things that threaten you. You can use your favorites fantastically if you can cover them. But a team of 6 of your favorites isn't going to be good ever if they have no synergy and they're all weak to one type or something.

Don't get mad and quit. In fact, losing helps you more than winning. See what you lost to. Swap out a team member or give yourself a move/item to deal with that thing the next time you fight it.

Learn some prediction. See what Pokemon do what in specific situations and learn to switch a lot. Something doing 10% of your HP and then you healing yourself for 6% with leftovers means your opponent may not only have wasted a turn, but given you an extra turn in them running away and giving you a chance to boost or cripple whatever comes in.

But for the sake of things, ghost/fairy is perfect coverage. Or near-perfect, I suppose since Littleo's line exists.

You can run 252 HP/Defense instead of SATK because you'd be boosting your special defense and special attack anyway

At that point you can run wish with your huge bulk to not only heal up after grabbing a few calm minds, but also being able to run support if need be.

That would only hit Azumarill, who takes no more than 36% and 2HKOs with Play Rough (unboosted all around), and Carbink, who... really doesn't come up much, honestly. And will normally be Sturdy.
And, as the other Anon pointed out, Flare Blitz hits Azumarill harder, even when resisted.
Fire/Dragon/Ground should cover anything you REALLY want to get rid of, and Fire/Dragon alone should suffice in all but a very few cases. Again, DD/Dragon Claw/Flare Blitz/Roost will do fine, most of the time.

Brick Break / Blitz / Claw / Dance is a great set, the one I use myself. Gives Tyranitar a proper spook, and helps ensure OHKOs against crap like Chansey (without obliterating yourself with flare blitz that is) when you only manage to get one dance in.

Give Frolass support moves, its better at support than offense

Give Rapid Spin to Tentacruel

You don't need Rest on Spirtomb get some more power on it or more annoyance moves.

Your team is going to get walled like crazy by Steel types, you need some fire or a better ground attacker than Whiscash

I've surprisingly only lost about 3 of 10 matches with this team. I get so bored using Greninja Aegislash Goodra, it's so fucking lame. So I enjoy playing with this team. Or using Golem or Illumise

SR will make Ninjask a one use Baton Passer, Frolass loses 25% just by switching in, everyone other than Whiscash goes down to 87% HP from switching in. Let there not be spikes in play or you'll be at another loss of 25% HP at level three spikes. Seeing as Mightyena who you claim "sweeps" has no HP or defense any priority attack would rape it after SR or Spikes damage.

You need Rapid Spin or Defog

Drop Solar Beam, give it a Life Orb, give it Close Combat, give it Flare Blitz and max its Attack and Speed EVs

What the fuck are you think using FURY CUTTER and Thief ? Those moves are ass, and Thief doesn't get its power buff if you don't steal their item which you can't.

Scizor needs to be Adamant, With Bug Bite/U-Turn and Superpower

Drop Bite, give it Icicle Crash/Protect

Mienshao does not need to be Mixed, just go full attack and speed. Drop HP Ice for Fake Out, Protect or SD

Drop Shell Bell give it Leftovers if you want recovery no point in having Protect when you can only heal on turns you do damage. Brave Bird over Aerial Ace and Swords Dance or Bulk up over Protect/Steel Wing
