I need some advice guys. I'm unsure of what to to as far as a team for battling people online. Disclaimer, I have very little experience. So far I have:

Venusaur w/ Overgrow that's Calm
Gliscor w/Immunity that's Impish

Then I have several choices for physical sweepers: Marowak w/Rock Head and Thick Club, Elekid w/Static, Beldum, Scyther, Poliwhirl...and more. All Adamant.

That's it.

I have no idea when it comes to special sweepers, mixed sweepers and support.

Please help me. I'd appreciate any advice.

Maybe some support? I know everyone hates it because it's so overused, but Klefki is a really easy one to try out. You'll get the hang of it soon enough.

a good advice that helped me alot is by doing the following:
Create a team by yourself. decide to either focus on offense or defence. build a team that seems balanced in weaknesses and type coverage.
no matter how much smogon-hate you see on this board, go look up sets for pokemon you chose for your team to get inspiration from them. dont just copy their sets blindly and read their textblocks that actually explain the sets. adjust your personal set according to how you see fit.

once you have a team you feel comfortable with, download showdown and create your team there. go with pokebank OU or UU as tiers for the sets, because that will decide what kind of opponents you'll get.

you'll probably start losing alot. that's just how it is. be aware of who or what the weak links in your team are and adjust accordingly. Most things like appropriate type coverage is best realized by seeing what type of moves destroy you.
while doing the showdown thing, post your current setups in team-rating threads here on /vp/ to get soem advice from the outside.

what about special sweepers? I have no idea which pokemon are good as Special Sweepers or Mixed sweepers.

I was thinking about using Abomasnow.
