Ok, so I've only been playing gen 3 on a ds lite I bought recently, and since black friday is coming up I plan to upgrade and get the new games.

Is the 3DS (or XL) a lot better than the 2DS? Is the 2DS awkward to use? seems bulky. Would it be worth $50 more to get a 3DS XL over a 2DS at $100?

Is gen 4 worth buying? I don't really like the mons in it. Is platinum worth getting over pearl or diamond?
