Gym Leaders do not increase in difficulty throughout the gens, except for - if you weren't level-grinding enough - Clair.
>Also Hyper Beam mechanics were different.I'm aware of that. So was Blizzard's accuracy. So, just spam Blizzard and you won. It's not a hard TM to acquire.
>I can tell you didnt start with Gen 1 alreadyI'm actually this anon:
>>16269357I was ~6 when I got Blue for Christmas. My older brothers got Red and Yellow. Though they definitely beat the games faster than I did, I was still capable on my own. RBY were not hard games.
>you had to count on grinding Ursaring Golbat and Pupitar for gains until @70To be fair, beating Red is as necessary as catching Mewtwo in Gen 1. Secondly, the AI is still retarded in Gen 2 and if you have a balanced enough team, you could easily beat him despite the level gap. Fuck, I beat Red with the improved team and AI in HGSS while my in-game team was in the mid-to-high 60's.
>After you get about 5 badges, Machop
Wooper
Pidgey
Hoothoot
Sentret
Geodude
Zubat
Onix
...and more are accessible early game.
>Im not saying theyre that great. Theres just a huge difference in accessibility for Pokes that can actually do anything against their gyms. Gen 5 starts by giving you a free monkey invalidating the early game challenge. In comparison, Brock was a badass. Not really, it's all still dependent on the mons you actually catch in-game, and as I said, you just need neutral mons.
The elemental monkeys are retarded though. Same for Metal Claw Charmander.
And Brock was destroyed by Water/Fighting/Grass anyway.
Anyways, the games do not vary that wildly in difficult UNTIL Gen VI. Gen VI is the only gen that was plainly made for no difficulty, unless you actively avoid using the Exp Share, given mons, the starters, etc. But that doesn't make Gen VI anywhere near being bad.
