Daily reminder that /vp/ is long past its prime, and the new generation of /vp/ers that hopped on for XY will never match the /tr/ainers of the past nor truly know just what went down back then.
The Blackpool shit was just trolling, and nothing compared to the NYC vs Shanghai war.
Serebii Confirmed was cemented in stone, while No Es Fake is falling into obscurity as people forget about Hiro.
Wottergate was the shitstorm to end all shitstorms. To compare Fairy Day to it is like comparing the Korean War to WWII.
2013 /vp/ doesn't even have an equivalent to the Gamespot Villain Tournament.
It doesn't have an equivalent for KOG's antics either. Or Tentaquil's creation. Or Pomf=3, WPM, and Joe all duking it out on here. Or the arguing over localization decisions.
There also wasn't a nonstop deluge of people from Reddit, nor an atmosphere of hate and paranoia towards any other site.
The hype for the protag's friends and Team Flare was paltry in light of rumors and enthusiasm of Bianca being the Champion, or N's relation to Team Plasma and possibly being an angel.
The Gen 5 hype train climax was the entire Pokedex being leaked at once, resulting in Nintendo cracking down on various sites. Gen 6's climax was finding out we'd already known half the Pokedex as leakers sluggishly reveal things and Serebii ends up revealing big stuff to us before them despite being massively late to the party.
In conclusion, the only thing Gen 6 and newcomers can truly take pride in is that Mega Mewtwo fiasco.
