Why are pokemon so tiny?

It totally takes me out if the game when dinosaurs and dragons are almost as small as a human.

Pocket Monsters, I always took that to mean they were never supposed to be too huge even if Pokeballs are basically able to contain anything. Another thing is people seem to underestimate the actual sizes of Pokemon. Even something that is 4 feet would still be big by animal standards. Besides a few obvious examples, humans tend to be taller than most things although it helps that we're bipedal. Charizard at 5'7 would not be little to you in person even if you are taller than him.

They probably already know, it's just that device in particular that doesn't have the data. The whole point is for your character to research it and learn, etc. That's like saying people didn't know about "X subject" before Wikipedia.

Pokeballs have the tech to become even smaller when not in use, what's to say that they don't have the tech to rescale the size of the pokemon?
