Mage would notice that no one had noticed the missing guards apparently, their position still mostly concealed by the cliff face. Which was lucky for, being nightfall now, parts of the city were lit up quite well, spotlights shined over the water, and moved in ever slow paths along the mountain side, their source being the concealed positions inside the cliffsides... the place had less troops than before, but getting down there, much less finding their target. Would take some extensive skill.
