Why do Game Freak have such a hard-on for this guy? Gen V comes round they give him one of the best abilities in the game, Gen 6 comes round and he gets a fucking Mega. Also, why weren't the Mega Evolutions given to Pokemon that need them? Like Kingler, Cacturne or Flygon. Fair enough that Pokemon like Kangaskhan, Absol and Mawile get Megas, but Lucario, Scizor, Tyranitar, Garchomp, Gengar, Gyarados? These Pokemon were some of the best ones in the game, did they really need another evolution? I think GF really fucked up a cool concept.

>>16324172 I agree with you. I thought that gamefreak was for once trying to balance the game. Not gonna happen.

Seeing as he got shafted like fucking crazy in Gen 4 I welcomed the ability. The mega was a bit much though. Maybe he's just one of the more popular starters? And yeah I don't know what they were thinking when they gave fucking TTar and Gengar megas, especially when they've been OU since their inception.

Blaziken is the worst, I hate that its so good.

I remember being really pissed in Gen IV about Infernape, who back then basically did everything Blaziken could but better. Speed Boost was a very welcome buff, but now they added a Mega I think that's kind of pushing it. Let's hope they distribute Megas to those that need it next time.

Well Gen 4 started pretty bare bones, but not this bare. None the less, usually a truckload of extra stuff comes with the remake (Z or X2/Y2) so who knows?

>>16324172 this is mostly why I'm still not sold on Megas. If they at least gave it to those that actually needed them, and distributed them equally to ALL starters, then maybe my autism wouldn't get rustled too much. But no, they had to give mega-evos to pokemon that already wreak havoc. Legendaries like Mewtwo are fine. They are supposed to be overpowered anyway. But Garchomp, Ttar, Blaziken?

So, are mega evolutions gonna be permanent in the franchise or something we look back on to Gen VI? Probably permanent.

Really, of all the gen 3 pokemon to shamelessly favor they chose Blaziken over THIS guy...

>>16325865 I think they made the reliance on the Mega Ring key item just so they have the option to include it or not in future generations. If they want to include it, put the Mega Ring in game. If not, don't. I'm willing to bet GameFreak is waiting for public approval to continue the concept.

>give Garchomp a Mega >almost no one uses it because they consider it inferior well that was a waste of time. what's the point of having a Mega form if it's not a straight upgrade?

also Machamp and Golem not getting megas along with Alakazam and Gengar. But then again, given how shitty and senseless many of the megas look, maybe it's for the better

>>16326032 You can choose to have a slow bulky Garchomp or a fast, frailer one. Good for Sticky Web teams, for example.

Some megas are for variety and change some stats all together. Although some also just flat-out improve stats.
Still, I love blazekin and all, but I wish the other starters of gen 3 got some megas too. Maybe when the remake comes around.
