>>16334538It also started here. The author accepted himself that he wanted his little program to be spread on the most focused communities to be catched on. So he distributed it on Reddit, GBATemp, Here, and finally and less known, Gamefaqs (though i admit, it's the first time moderators reacted to remove everything on those places, except Temp and Reddit)
He did it consciously, with no remorse, and acted as if he was making the whole pokemon community in the world some sort of huge favor. And he did it, by singlehandedly casting a permanent shadow of boubt for both WiFi Random, Ranked Matches, and even Wi-Fi Tournaments(like the ones that're going to be held) depending on the situation.
Some people is already making/made some counter-measure program for this, and there's as well the probably-not-that-impossible-anymore patch that may or may not come from Game Freak or Nintendo soon, obligatory or not, so not all is lost.
>TL;DR? An imbecile opened Pandora's Box once again, consequences would never be the same, and so other metaphors could be said..
There are/will be workarounds for it, official or not, but kiss your ass goodbye for Instacheck and anything else, including pokegen, if they decide to encrypt and tighten up the security with a patch.
This is Joe Friday, and if you read this in my voice, those're just the facts, ma'am.
