Instacheck and Battle Analyzer work in mostly the same way, by analyzing the incoming data packets. If GF is doing something to change the way that's handled, it's entirely possible Instacheck will break too.

I'm thinking Instacheck may be fine though. Since they didn't stop the GTS or Wonder Trade or anything, which I think they'd need to if they're gonna retool how that data is sent as well.

Instacheck is technically cheating. The game does not tell you the SV of eggs. While this may not give you an absolute advantage in terms of stats, it is still using a loophole to achieve shinies.

instacheck, while I do actually like and enjoy it's existence, is NOT the same cheating as using information like base stats.

Instacheck gives you hidden information about your OWN specific bits of data, and let you manipulate with other hidden bits of data trainers over the internet to achieve a goal, but base stats are a static subject and never change and don't need any type of outside source to be manipulated/used.

Also, just because the information was originally obtained through data mining, doesn't mean it was only obtainable that way or that every subsequent user of that information is also cheating.

That's like saying just because scientific discoveries were made from concentration camps, we shouldn't exercise the knowledge gained from them.

Secondly, the major boon knowing base stats bring is what outspeeds what with what EVs, what ohko/2hkos/etc what with what, and we don't actually need to know base stats for those things, it just helps.

MM is a 6/8192 chance and you may not get the stats you want. IC on the other hand ensures that you get perfect stats and once you have enough boxes, you are almost bound to find the SV you need.

you can't know exact level. That's why they are just called starter moves.

For example, scizor has a bullet punch as a starting move, but because he evolves, not hatched, he never gets the starter move except from the move relearner.

There is no associated level for the move.

Well the point of Starting moves originally was that, if a pokemon was ever hacked or unintentionally encountered at an impossible level, say, a Charizard at level 1, it would still have moves to battle with. Sort of like a failsafe.

How is learning the SVs of eggs and manipulating them to a desired outcome different from doing the same with IVs? They're both hidden values, and there is no way to know what they are exactly without using a 3rd party program like an IV calculator or Instacheck. Maybe people contacting each other to help with breeding was an intended social mechanic all along for gen 6?

I have never gone out of my way to contact other pokemon players for mutual benefit in previous gens, just sayin.

IVs are hidden values. Stats are not. You can use stats+nature to calculate IVs. When you find information in-game that you can use to calculate your SV, they you can try that again. Not to mention Judge and him giving you a rough estimate. Hell, using IVs you can get an estimate of your Base Stats too. While not explicitly stated, they are implied through other means. SV is not.

Instacheck isn't important. Sure, it lowers the value of shinies, but that doesn't have a large impact on gameplay. Battle Analyzer is straight up cheating, so GF would logically create a patch for it immediately.
Since they have an encryption that can be applied to both platforms, they can then encrypt instacheck because that's cheating too.

I don't think anyone actually has a problem with Instacheck barring trolls as it's more of a supplement to YOUR own data and YOURS alone and helps alleviate most of the pain of biking back and forth for hours and hoping you get the right one. It's no different from using an IV calculator.

Using the battle analyzer gives you an unfair advantage in allowing you to know EVERYTHING the opponent does with an outside source, regardless of whater or not the opponent is using it too. So that in it of itself IS cheating.
