Yesterday, I had RE probably hundreds of Metang in search of metal coats. No shiny.
Today, however, in my first encounter after starting the game...BOOM there it is, white Metang with gold spikes.

Second shiny metang in that FS.

Today is definitely a good day.

I did literally the same thing for a foreign game. Got Y and played in French. I've flipped about 2 or 3 5 IV pokemon for people already. One of which got his Shiny Aron in like 12 boxes or so.

You can't suck at chaining, you're either doing something wrong, or make a mistake mid chain, once you learn the shaky styles its easy, just takes a bit of practice. Make sure you go for the HARDEST shaky patch (overall, not just in that reset) and its atleast 2 patches away. If 2 are hardest, go for the farthest

Hatched a modest female Ralts last night on my 5th box of babies using Masuda Method. It's one of the few evolution lines that I think actually looks better shiny.

HP runs off of even and odd IVs which form a binary number where it's 1 for odds and 0 for evens. That's multiplied by 15 then divided by 63 and the result determines your HP.
Yours would be 011011 which is 27. Multiply by 15 divide by 63 you get 6.4 which floors to 6. The HP would be Ghost.

If you want a bulky tank don't invest in attack EVs. Otherwise it's alright, you're not really covering any of your weaknesses though, but to each their own. Since you're locked out of egg moves, you may want to consider adding megahorn for some coverage, but again, the stab moves are always reliable sets.

using dittos is chump ideology. There's multiple offers usually around these threads for people to breed an egg with the same IV spread as the two parents you give the person, flipping the language tag for you. It's a faster egg rate than dittos, and far more mutable. Getting a 4-5 IV ditto is about as shitty of a rate as MM is.

Finally got my first radar shiny! Took like 3 days on and off because damn the radar is stressful. Even when I could have sworn the patch I was going in was violently rustling and was far enough away/not on an edge/not beside another patch I kept breaking chains around the 20 mark anyway, and when I finally got 40 it still took me a solid three quaters of an hour resetting my radar for a shiny patch. Don't think I'll be doing that again, but I'm way happy with this guy, Jolly synchro worked and he happened to have 31 speed aswell.

Probably been asked a lot, but are Xerneas, Yveltal and Zyagrde shiny locked?

They're most likely locked. Only pics of the shinies have been proven fake. They're literally the only Pokemon in Gen 6 with no official Shiny Pic, so it's likely not possible for them to be shiny.

They're probably saving them for a special distribution sometime.

Any advice? How many boxes did you need for the shiny?
I have patience, but this will last forever.
