Your opponent was using Talonflame wrong. It is WAY too risky to Brave Bird something at 100%. Good players use it as a clean-up sweeper and a revenge killer when in a pinch.

Considering you'll normally OHKO whatever isn't resisting HJK, if you miss you can always regenerator with uturn or a switch. I roll with it. I think Drain Punch is an option too.

I've taken to using Bergbro to beat up talonflame. They never seem to expect stone edge on it. It's funny when they think their banded brave bird can break through it.

But banded talonflame's a fucking pain in the ass, if you lose your defensive wall or it goes below 80% health you lose the game.

The only thing worse are all these damned "pass speed to m-kanga" gimmicks.

I cannot believe people are still having trouble with mega kangaskhan. I've been a serious wifi battler for years and i've been playing this gen for about 3 weeks, every mega kanga I see has never once swept me or threatened to sweep me. It's just so easily walled by motherfucking unaware quagsire, the shit is ridiculous. And the only people stupid enough to spam mega kanga just keep using power up punch until I burn them with scald, and the one guy who wasn't just kept trying to hit me with return and still couldn't take down quagsire.

Not to mention any kind of priority (especially from a pokemon who can resist sucker punch) is just peachy, and tons of fighting types who know mach punch are running around just begging to get Justified attack boost (2 for getting hit twice) from sucker punch.

I do not think I've ever seen a metagame this balanced before in any Pokemon gen. Right now, anything that isn't ubers has at the very least, a pretty good check or several and tons of pokemon are viable that didn't use to be.

So this whole debate over which is worse, talonflame hurr or no no no mega kangaskhan is the worst because i don't know what sableye/spiritomb/quagsire/any fast fighting type/ most fairy types is so it's unbeatable!!!

And the people who bitch about mega-gengar being broken just need to be smacked upside the head. Jesus.

And no, I'm not saying these pokemon are bad by any means. Obviously they are good which is why so many people are using them. They are just pretty easy to counter and work around if you have two brain cells to rub together.

Also, the best pokemon in OU right now is obviously azumarill.

I carry Crobat for Ferrogay, iceberg dude for talonflame, and Lanturn or Gastrodon for washing machine. Smogon-wash is the biggest cunt because he can ruin anything that walls him with just trick or toxic.

Quagsire is 2HKO'd by Mega-Kanghaskhan, it cannot switch into it unless another one of your Pokemon has already fainted.

If you switch Quagsire into Power-Up Punch, then you have to hope that Scald's 30% burn rate activates or else you will just be KO'd the next turn.

Boasting that you've been able to beat children who don't understand what Quagsire's ability does doesn't say anything about Kanghaskhan's ability to be walled or your skill as a player.

You're also playing on wifi which is full of children.

Lefties gives you 6.25 back, so any damage value over 56.25 would get the 2HKO. And with the way damage is calculated (56.25-54.80=1.45 difference, 7.95 difference), there is a higher chance that Kanga could get the 2HKO assuming the first hit is on a switch than it won't.

tl;dr Quagsire can't safely switch in to get Mega-Kanga, and it is 2HKO'd if they start on even footing.

That two turn shut out is far too detrimental for use even with the strategy.

I've found it kind of dumb that people have been trying to 'hose' mega kanga with that when it relies entirely on them jumping into ferro/gar with those twice unless they have strong prio.

Well, obviously the best and probably only mega-kangaskhan counter would have to be ditto. I guess it's not a perfect counter since you can't switch Ditto in to TAKE any hits, but you can switch it in as a nice check/ revenge killer.

Yeah, Leech Seed is a completly better option as it forces switches on Physical atackers and Rapid Spinners, givin oportunnity to put hazards on/thunder ave.
But I just pointed that I see why somebody of not that good skills could put Rest. Leech seed doesn't heal nearly as much as to make rocky helmet that realivable.

Sounds good on paper, but as a regular Talonflame user, I am not even remotely afraid of stealth rock.

If you have three or fewer partially-weakened pokemon that don't resist Talonflame's STABs and I haven't switched Talonflame out yet, I generally assume that I've already won. I don't care if my health is halved if you won't get a chance to hit me.

Bulky mons can still take a hit and smack me out of the air but most of them not named Blissey or something would still shit on me without rocks because Talonflame is made of paper anyways.
