Hey OP, there's a big difference.

People RNG and Pokégen just to get those perfect Pokémon faster. It's entirely possible to do it in game. There's nothing broken about it whatsoever. Unless the person Pokegens for impossible Pokémon.

Battle Analyser basically guarantees wins and takes out the point of battles. If you don't understand this, you obviously don't battle other people.

Although I'm fully aware OP is baiting, there are people who genuinely believe what he says

The real culprit is the needlessly time-consuming IV system and the way stats work.
Got a Garchomp with flawless stats except its speed IV is 30 instead of 31? Enjoy losing against other Garchomps.
That system does nothing other than encouraging cheating, so why not get rid of it?

Neither does GameFreak, otherwise competitive battles would give bonuses for how much time you've spent playing the game so far. Breeding and raising your Pokemon is a completely separate aspect from battling. You don't need one to have the other.

Actually I'm the poster you are replying to, and I spend hours breeding and planning out my team because I like to do it.

However, understand that Pokémon battles against real people are FUN, and not everyone has the time to put into the preparation.

Simulators are great for those people. But, some people like the animations and such in game, especially in XY where there's no 3D simulator alternative.

You can predict without battle analyser, sure. But with it, you can be 100% sure.

Battle analyser actually lets you alter your Pokemon's moveset on the fly as long as the Pokemon can naturally learn the move you want it to use.

Blame Nintendo's shitty coding. They don't actually keep track of what moves your team entered the battle with.

Seriously, just stop. If you work towards breeding a perfect Pokémon, the game tells you when you have achieved it, and so you can stop..therefore reaching the same end as RNG abuse or Pokégen. Battle analyser is not like that, because without it, you can NEVER be sure what your opponent is going to do no matter how much time you wait.

Honestly, OP is correct in that they're similar. They both are external programs that tell you what to do for a desired outcome in the game.

What makes them different, however, is who is affected. With RNG abuse it's man against computer for the man to succeed. In terms of the battle analyzer, it's man vs. man. Other humans are capable of rational thought, so gaining an advantage that wasn't supposed to be a part of the game could be an offense against another person.

It's like using steroids in sports, in a sense. You can do it on your own time, sure. But in man vs. man competitions, there's ethics to that.

When you are battling online against someone, you have no idea whether that person has spent hours getting those Pokémon, or whether they have done it in 5 minutes. And as long as they're still legally obtainable...it doesn't make a difference to you either way. That's the key difference I'm trying to explain, because Battle Analyser DOES affect the other person is a significant way. And I think you understand that tbh.

Like I said, I personally breed and go the long way around, because it's what I like to do. But y'know, everyone is different.

And you can make the tool even better in theory, you can have it use moves that your pokemon doesn't know but could learn in theory, giving you access to more than just 4 moves. Now that's just bullshit.

Assuming GF is going to patch Battle Analyzer, will it affect Instacheck as well?
If they're going to put an encryption during battles nothing stops them from doing the same for trades as well right?

Analyzer puts me at a complete advantage over the opponent. PokeGen doesn't, as long as the Pokemon I'm using are legal. All I really did was save time from the bike simulator. :)

I try to make a case in this thread that part of the cheating is cheating out an aspect of the game that requires time investment. Like a lot of competitive scenes and similar to an MMO.

Like I said, i can understand your side of the argument and respect it. Try to be legit when you can, and I dont think people will really give you shit for using pokegen like they would for analyzer. But Im trying to make a case for people say it takes to long or dont have time. Its just laziness and not using all the legit resources available like trading and reading up guides and actually trying.
