Name me one good reason why Fire, Ice, and Flying, by far the 3 most frail types in the game, get nerfed by Stealth Rock for no reason.What a complete fuck up.

I used to get super mad about Sneaky Pebbles too, OP.

But they're not so bad, because:

Damage calculation for SR is stupid as shit, but it's one of the many problems with the game. We just need to collectively deal.

I'm still waiting for a Trick Room buff.

Fire, the element has no physical from and can be easily extinguished.

Ice is very brittle.

Flying, specifically birds, have hollow bones making them easily harmed. Also, the aerodynamics of Flying can be interrupted by external forces.

They nerfed Dragon, who were monsters, with the introduction of Fairy type. Fine. But Fire and Ice are without challenge the two worst defensive types in the game. There is no need to make them even worse. It's fucking absurd. I know there's ways to deal with SR, but it would be far more appropriate if it took like 1/8th HP of any Pokemon rather than 1/16th of some lucky ones and fucking 50% of others. Fucking retarded

Megas were a popularity contest combined with the desire to make some other mons more viable.

Yeah, Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Gengar were the last pokemon that need a buff, but they also got to take awful Pokemon like Kangaskhan, Mawile, and Ampharos and breathe new life into them. If Megas were only given to Pokemon no one cared about, they wouldn't have been able to hype it up nearly as much.

Plus, we'll see more megas soon. Likely the same kind of mix of "don't need it" and "desperately need it".

Fire and Flying are only considered particularly frail because of the rock weakness. The only common rock stuff you see is Stone Edge and Stealth Rocks. The latter is more common. So essentially, they're frail because they're weak to Stealth Rocks, not weak to Stealth Rocks because GameFreak hates them and they're already frail.

Ice is an offensive type. It can get away with being frail as shit. GameFreak just needs to stop making bulky ice-types.

Flying type should replicate all effects of Levitate.

Ghost types should be immune to Spikes.

Gravity should clear Stealth Rock.

OP shouldn't send out flying/fire/ice types into SR.

It'd still probably never be used. Look at Defog. It has ridiculously low usage despite a good distribution.

If they were ridiculously OP and there just had to be some way of getting by their awesome power and defense, then SR would have been a great idea! But no. They're not. No, I mentioned Maccargo because he's a lost cause. Unless they gave him an evolution, Steelcargo, Steel/Fire with Filter or Flash Fire or something. I'd settle for a Mega... But unlike him, Fire and Ice types can be saved by removing SR's SE damage. No reason why type should affect an entry hazzard unless it's a direct nerf like Fairy was to Dragon.

Well the argument isn't why is rock effective against those types but rather why make an entry hazard that uses that type.

The real answer is that both types of spikes don't work against flying types, making flying types take extra damage from SR was probably their idea of balancing that out.

Instead of reducing the effectiveness of SR they should introduce more types of entry hazards and spread them around. Smoldering Coals (fire), Caltrops (steel), Thorny Vines (grass), Icicles (ice), Legos (fairy), etc.

Ground cancels Spikes, Rock cancels Stealth Rock, e.t.c.

Poison can already cancel Toxic Spikes anyway, so why not?
