While I distinctly remember being fucking furious during the transition from Gen II to III that I couldn't transfer my team, it occurs to me that, with the greater number of generations since the last reset, a fair number of moves being restricted by being obtainable in certain generations (most notably B2W2 move tutors), and the development of a more accessible meta game (introduction of super training, in game IV judge, better online with tournament support), now would be the perfect time for a reset in terms of transferring. Not to mention, this would help justify more remakes by having certain Pokemon only accessible through those means.
