Which champion has the worst team? Lance's is unimaginative, but at least all of the pokemon individually are powerful.

Diantha's team was pretty terrible. They sacrificed raw power so they could make her team some sort of advertisement of the Kalos region.

Did she really need both of those dreadful fossil Pokemon? And was Gourgeist really the best choice? Seems really lame for a team.

Take away Aurorus and Gourgeist, replace them with Gale Wings Talonflame and Aegislash. Maybe take off Hawlucha and replace it with Klefki or Sylveon.

THAT would be a good team.

Lance is the worst for obvious reasons.
Followed by Wallace because of the monotyping. Steven and Iris also had little diversity, so they're next.
Diantha's team was weak, and Alder's wasn't great either.
Only Blue and Cynthia had good teams.

Why drop Gourgeist if you're just gonna use Trevenant?

For the sake of things, the former fits better thematically on her team. And unless you actually know what you're doing (An AI doesn't) Tevenant doesn't know what moves to use at what time to be most effective, and that's 90% of Trevenant's advantage over Gourgeist.

Trevenant has the better abilities and offensive prowess. It is also more intimidating looking, so i think it fits better. I know she's supposed to be an elegant trainer but Gougeist isn't elegant, and that quota is filled by Gardevoir and Hawlucha.
Plus Trevenant won't use Trick-or-Treat on your pokemon as yours uses Shadow Claw. What the fuck.

For some reason this made me laugh. Lance probably has the worst team overall. Individually, his pokemon are powerful but they're all weak to rock.

Diantha's team is also pretty bad. It feels slapped together at the last minute. Only real threats are Goodra and Megavoir.

I'd put Wallace below Lance, but Wallace had some decent things to prevent being swept by all grass or electric moves.

His non-repeat dream team is: Dragonite, Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Charizard, Kingdra, Tyranitar.

In Gen 1 all trainer Pokémon just had whatever level-up moves they would have most recently learned, which means most trainers had shitty movesets. Blue was just especially bad, with his (useless) Whirlwind Pidgeot, Rhydon with Leer, Tail Whip and no STAB, and an Exeggutor with only three attacks.

I don't know about GenVI since I don't have it yet, but the most disappointing boss battle for me was Wallace. Alder's was kind of disappointing too.
