I'm fine with that. The backgrounds were nice, but the Pokemon sprites themselves were kind of shitty.

Even outside the main games they still manage to fuck you over. Better stock up on Reviver seeds.

It's vastly superior in every aspect. They also added new dungeons and 5 side-missions which feature Pokémon like Bidoof and Sunflora as playable characters.

Those missions only served to make me hate Bidoof and Sunflora more. Igglybuff and Armalbro was goof though.

The main story is about the same. The did expand the post-game with the Shaymin mountain and of course the special episodes. Also they shook up some of the encounterable Pokémon and items a bit.
