I don't understand this.

When I played stall last Gen I built an entire team of walls/tanks. It felt like there was a lot more skill involved than in hyper offense because I constantly had to predict my opponents moves to know if I should switch, heal, or use a status move, and what I should switch to or what move I should use.

Was I playing stall wrong?

Yes. You're supposed to Toxic with Blissey and SoftBoil whenever you reach below 50%, switching to a physical steel-type wall whenever appropriate.

That was *part* of what I did.

I ran Skarmbliss. But some pokemon could fuck with Blissey and Skarmory, or were immune to Toxic. Also using either of those against something with burns was frightening. That's what the rest of the team was for.

Also set-up sweepers. Skarmbliss can have trouble with setup sweepers.

Basically, it wasn't that simple. Especially against other tanks.

you would cry with laughter if you saw how people react to Sableye "sweeping" and spreading burn on all 6 enemy pokes followed by them disconnecting
