Besides, why did they implement that feature anyway? You can't even select this play style online. You have, what, 15 trainers ingame who do sky battles? And that's it.

It's such a minor feature and yet responsible for Tropius, Swellow, Xatu and others to float like a kite...

I hate how they made the animations for every flying Pokemon look like that, as most of them look completely stupid. I ignored every person who offered to sky battle me.

Hopefully they fix everything with Z or XY2.
Use the Amie models for always flying pokemon in normal battle, allow all the flying mons to battle.

Fuck sky battles, man. Probably the most shittily implemented gimmick in any pokemon game ever.

That said, here's how I wish it had been done:
>most flying-type and levitating mons have a standard "grounded" animation, except for the ones that wouldn't make sense, like haunter, koffing and that stuff.
>whenever they are targeted by a ground-type attack, they display their "soar-up" animation, and start flying
>the animation of the attack is displayed as they float idly above it.
>after a random amount of turns, they land.

Hopefully for gen 7 this stupid shit gets fixed.

sky battles should only happen if there are two eligible pokemon on the field in a regular battle, they both go up into the sky. this is how it shouldve been done.
