I'm seriously going to throw this fucking game out the window. I'm breeding for a 5 IV Bergmite. I have a Destiny Knot on one that has all 31s except for SP DEF and SPD. The other one has

31 X 31 31 31 X

I keep getting Bergmites missing attack and some only having two IVs. This makes no fucking sense whatsover. Doesn't the Destiny knot guarantee five IVs from it's holder?

It guaranties that at least 5 IV's come from the parents by random.

That means that 5 of the child's IV's are from his parents, and one is random.

You just keep getting the shitty IV's.

Okay, here's what you do.

You sound like you're starting with one 2 IV and one 3 IV parent.

Keep the offspring until you eventually stumble across one male with 3 IVs in what you want and one female with 3 IVs in what you want. Put them in the daycare with DK and Everstone. Keep breeding until you get two 4 IV offspring. etc.

You need to keep changing up the parents.

Not necessarily.

You could have one with HP, ATK and DEF and one with HP, SPD and SPE.

And when you get lucky and happen to inheret one with HP, ATK, DEF and SPE, then that's the next parent you'll use.

breed that one with whatever the next best thing you recently hatched is, because I'm pretty sure you can't breed with offspring's parents.

Dude, you're not doing ANYTHING wrong. You just need patience.

Use Egg Hatching Power when you can and a Pokemon with Flame Body. I know it's tedious, but this is what breeding is all about.

Besides, Dylan is being very kind and offering you a 5IV one to save you the trouble, so be sure to take him up on his offer even if it means using it to breed your own 5IV one.

Its the exact same thing as normal breeding, you keep breeding until you get to 5 correct IV parents and breed them together until the random IV comes out the one you want. But yeah it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more tedious than normal breeding.

HP Fire is very good on Greninja since it gets STAB and becomes 90BP, it also lets him beat 2 of his counters, Scizor and Ferrothorn.

Look, OP, it works like this:

Destiny Knot passes 5 IVs at random from both parents. So let's see it this way:

31/31/31/31/X/X
31/X/31/31/31/X

The RNG fucks you in the ass and takes Speed, SpDef from the parent that lacks 31 IVs, and Atk from the other one. It takes 2 more stats at random, and the one that it doesn't pass to the ofsspring is one of those with 31 in both parents.

There you have it, offspring with 2 perfect IVs with parents that both have 4.

Really, the only thing you need is a bit of patience. Sometimes, I couldn't even get some rejects to trade gefore que 5IV one appeared, and sometimes I had 2 boxes full of rejects before the awaited one hatched.
