That would mean that - for ONCE - Pokemon anime would have a better storyline than the game it was supposed to depict/popularize.

The Unova ark ended with everyone being arrested, and the Sinnoh ark ended with Cyrus going nuts and leaping into another universe.

Yep, but as far as I remember his anime self wanted to build his paradise in the parallel dimension that he opened doorway to.

Whereas in-game Cyrus wanted to undo all of creation with no informed lore regarding how he plans to restart it.
